Stochelo is the closest thing to Django Reinhardt you'll ever hear. He is a true Gypsy as was Django. Bireli isn't too far behind, you should hear him play electric bass. The only Gypsy jazz guitarists on Stochelo's level are maybe Jimmy Rosenberg(no relation) or Sansom Schmitt.

I still do not get Langrene's rep after listening to another clip.

The machine like comping is SO annoying --completely clutters the solos.

He's highly regarded because he takes risks in his soloing & arrangements.Very rarely will you hear him solo without going out on a limb, even in the studio. Yes,he's a little "kinetic" for some tastes, even for the fan.
