This was the first "WTF" FC on drums in RB2. Also, this is to RB2's drums as Before I Forget is to GH3 - fast "chord" changes and very weird patterns.
therisen77, I have played real drums for about 10 years now and started rock band about 2 years ago, i fcd almost every song on rock band 2 so far and this is one that gets me. i have perfect finger control in match grip and im still going to go ahead and say that this song takes endurance. dont act like a hotshot, let the kid fc the song and shut the fuck up. he fcd it, you clearly didnt. dont be a dumbass and express your jealously by acting like youre the drumming know it all. pathetic
I had this sort of endurance after playing for 2 years. After playing for 2 years, I always already learning the album Leprosy by Death front to back.
This song is odd. HMX seems to have went all over the place with charting this one; it seems like they both over-charted and under-charted beats in this song. And don't even get me started with "They're Red Hot"... lol
this song and other oldies (spirit in the sky, tangled up in blue) are the reasons why rb2 as far as song selection surpasses gh its not even a contest
There are more classic oldies than that, he just didn't bother to cite all of them. His point is that RB2 has more/better oldies than GH, making it a better game. That sounds like a legit opinion to me, that's all I'm saying.
I've FCed Bad Reputation, but I get around 95-96% on this song every time because it's nearly twice as long, and about 4 minutes into the song it's a struggle.
He fc'd it using a method that is counterproductive in the long run.
The argument was over the technique. I have no problem maintaining this speed using matched grip or traditional. Technique is not something you can rush or replace with bullshit gimmicks and have it work in the long run.
He's not trying to become a world-class drummer, he's trying to come up with a quick workaround just so he can FC Ramblin Man. Anybody can figure out that it's not a good idea to try to play like this on anything other than long cymbal sections like those in Ramblin Man.
I'm not disagreeing that this isn't a good technique for real set play (but I'd like to see your evidence for your "fact"). My point is that this guy is playing Rock Band, and for the purposes of FCing Rambling Man without any real investment in learning real drumming technique, this is a fair substitute. I never claimed this is a legitimate technique for real set play (I'm an out-of-practice set drummer, and I would never do this). My only point was that your original comment was unnecessary.
Oh, and another thing I just thought of: while I'm not honestly disagreeing with your guess that lots of RB drummers move on to real drums, I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority do not, meaning that trying this technique rather than legitimate drumming techniques would make any difference to them in the long run. Out of those that play real drums after RB, I would also imagine that many of them wouldn't play for very long or go very far.
This song isn't technically so hard, it's just as fast as fuck...

I cheat this song, to get a great gold star score, I usally take breaks at drumfills by pausing quickly hahaha, rest my arm for a bit lol
nypad5 2 years ago
Well, it's only cheating if you only hit 3 times during the drum fill. But even then, it's just taking advantage.
The guy who posted an FC video of Visions by not activating overdrive until the very end. I would call that cheating.

dude this song kills your arms but check out fire your guns from the acdc pack that is the ultimate arm owner
allthatisorange 2 years ago
Correction, Let There Be Rock from that same pack is even faster and almost 7 mins long
zatch1156 2 years ago
but u have breaks in Let There be Rock, in here, lil breaks. songs like Let There be Rock, Bad Reputation, n others are just practice for this, to me
ghhost92 2 years ago
I know dude! And the big rock ending comes and is like 4 minutes long, at that point you're too tired to mash the drums.

this is just evil. if the reds were solid 8ths, this would be a lot easier

ITs not as hard as it looks, bad reputation is much more insane

is this a joke comment? bad reputation has been fc'd countless times. bad reputation isn't even considered hard

but bad rep is fast too

Bad Reputation you can use a certain sticking method to make it way easier.
The method doesn't work as well on this song though.
Hehe. 2 month old comment.
MapleFr3ak 3 years ago
damn b, howd your arm feel after this run?
sick job thought, much easier on world tour for some reason?
WaMBaMkThNX 3 years ago
You can move the stick without using your wrists in matched.
It's called finger control.
therisen77 3 years ago
that grip is nifty but you need it to fc this lol its called arm endurance
gohoog 3 years ago
yeah, but using this grip is EASIER to finger control. obviously.
beeemdubya 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Not nearly as efficient as a matched or traditional grip w/ finger control.

then you fc it

Again, the point of the video.
jtiza 3 years ago
Not the point of the argument though.
therisen77 3 years ago
At least you admit you're just trying to come off as another YouTube know-it-all instead of making a useful point.
jtiza 3 years ago
Fancy footwork around the argument doesn't do anything except make you look like more of a fool.
FACT: A lot of drummers that play RB will go on and play a real set, using this method will only hurt on the real set.
