It's a very good movie, very strong and sickly that is for sure but such is life, therefore it is worthy of seeing again, and again. It gives you the impression that you can almost figure out what the hell is going on completely and then it evades you, a worthy task for an artist. Definitely worthy of it's arthouse label.
wow! looks REALLY interesting! really dark...really deep...a vyage to one's own darkside. i think thats why i heard some bad reviews about this....it braught them where tey didnt want (or werent ready) to go.
This movie was very beautiful. It was very disturbing yes. Controversial, symbolic. Used beautiful metaphors. This is in my top ten list of must see movies for sure!!
I wish some of you immediate feel-good Christians would take actuality seriously and not blind yourselves. Before you condemn this film to hell try reading The Concept of Anxiety by Søren Kierkegaard and maybe you will realize how not anti-Christian this is. I wish some people had true faith nowadays and could face this kind of thing. Some of you militant Atheists should maybe do the same and stop condemning Christianity without knowing what its really about.

Just what we need.....more post-Christian, anti-life, anti-family nihilism and Godlessness from Europe. Another sick director putting sick fantasies to life. Let this Euro-trash stay where in should...in Europe. America is losing touch with Chrstianity because of this pointless crap.
What happened to freedom of speech and freedom of expression... That's also an American freedom. As well as freedom of (from) religion? PLUS: Have you seen this movie in full?
It is terrible and completely ignorant of people to deny the holocaust, but think of what you're saying... curtailing thoughts, opinions, and creativity? That's bordering on Fascism and Totalitarianism... Have you seen this movie in full? The whole movie is metaphor on how the director's depression makes him afraid of everything: isolation, women, sex, healing, etc... I bet if you saw the film you'd have a little different opinion... Maybe not, I don't know
It's also funny how you're so upset about America's delicate sensitivity, when you're YouTube channel states that you live in the UK... Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't that a part of Europe as a whole...

I think sometimes freedom should be curtailed. For example, holocaust denial should be a crime, and so should this film.

Willem Dafoe sometimes seems a little off in interviews, to put it mildly.

No; he just seems like a really nice guy. If that's "a little off" in your book then so be it. Jerk.
