@famdrummer Same here. I'm auditioning on snare for "general percussion"... My middle school band teacher thinks they're crazy for thinking that snare drum tells them how good you are at playing the crash cymbals...
i like these songs we just played Two-Celtic Folk Songs for Contest in NC were the Red Oak Middle Band were the best band in NC so i play the clarinet i like this
haha nice, i remember sitting and listenin to that song in the audience!! i especially rember the tempest cuz we had to play it in regular band. That was when i was in 7th grade. i was 1st chair symphonic though on alto sax xD!! and then we just finished the 2008 concert tonight , i got 2nd chair symphonic this time, xDDDDD
hey i play clarinet in my symphonic(advanced) band at school.....well we are playing two celtic songs in lakeland a southern florida college ...cuz we were 1 of the 3 schools chosen to play in the state........Our band director is the best.but i dont wanna say names......just cuz i d k if i will get in trouble.haha ..but on t.c.f.s. the oboes and flutes skeaked a bit..But awesome job...by the way im in 7th grade and this is my second year playing clarinet
The West Cary Intermediate Band of 2007-2008 played part of the two celtic songs. But the flutes and clarinets sound great!!
I, myself, play the clarinet and have auditioned for both all-county and all-district. But I didn't make it in 7th grade...I hope I'll make it this year!!
we played Two Celtic Folksongs when we were starting out.... Ah memories!!! But whoever is coming at the begining of Star of the County Down with saxes and percussion....get a God damn tuner!!! It's a song about a girl not a sheep!! But don't get me wrong it was very good.... an mhaith!!
Oh and by the way in The Tempest, one of the trumpets played a blatty note... And the saxes in the tempest played the notes a little too much longer than the rest of the band, making the notes sound flat... o: But I really love the phrasing that you can play. C=
Haha. I played The Tempest in 4th grade. Yeah. My band director in 4th grade was in band when he was in middle school and his band director was Robert W. Smith. He got him to come to our concert once...I got to meet him. He was pretty cool. I had 1st flute part. Of course. x]] And well anyways, this year we're playin Two Celtic Folksongs. It's a good song. x]
You sounded fabulous. How many people from Ligon got in? There's about 4 people in All-County Orchestra and I don't know if anyone bothered to post it ...
lol 6th grade too! i wanted to hear how the tempest sounded played by someone else cause it sounded weird for me... i play clarinet... it got obnoxious playing the same note for 18 measures straight, twice. but i am glad that our band sounds about as good if not better than the one in the video! not that they arent good! i loved hearing them play it.
We're playing that in our band right now. I'm Clarinet, so I have to repeat like, the same note 260 somethin' times. My bff's a flute, and was so freaked when she could FINALLY play the double notes.
k. that's better than I thought. If it was, like, young-adults (18, 19) I would think that that song is alittle too easy for them. I'm only in Seventh Grade.
Actually i showed my brother that and he wrote it (He percussion). We do play this song a bit faster than you, but if we stuffed up we could start again, but you were at a concert. I will post our version when I get the CD :D Look out for a video reply!
WOW! I finally found it! In our school band we play 2 celtic folk songs! Its my favorite song we play, and we just made a cd which we get a copy of soon! I couldn't find this song ANYWHERE over the internet untill now! Thx a bunch!

OMG I play tenor sax (1st Forsyth All-County Band) and we played both of these songs, and Deese was our director!!!
"I can go buy hair, but you'll always be ugly!"
Mr. deese is cool.
Anyway, Tempest sounds great! The squeaks in Two Celtic were offputting. Buttttttt you have a really strong band.
Were playing Two Celtic as one of the six songs in our spring concert too.
Good job! Keep on keepin' on.
