Point Defense System Mod for Homeworld 2. It's a mod meant to add more guns and combat roles to the ship from Homeworld 2, as well as add AI and realism to it. It ends up beating the snot out of movies today for quality, believability and awesomeness (this video is bad quality, in case you couldn't figure that out)

it doesnt just add shooting down enemy ordinance; it adds new ships, adds guns, makes things look cooler. Whereas pre-mod, the battlefield would always seem a bit sluggish, with big flashes of light only occasionaly, with PDS, there's big streams of firepower rocketing across the sky!

lot's of beams are too part of a mod? If yes - is it normal attack animation (like Ion cannons) or it's PD (turrets, specially designed to destroy missles/rockets) systems in action?

This is a mod for the game Homeworld 2. PDS stands for "Point Defense Systems". The ships and AI have been modified to behave more realistically, shooting down each other's ordinance, etc.

I like to compare it to setting the AI to super-high then gluing HW1 Taiidan Defence Fighters to everything. For those who don't know, Defence Fighters were armed only with a tiny beam that very rapidly shot down incoming bullets. It couldn't attack, though.
