This was a weak USA team and for that Olympics Italy was a better team winning silver while the USA won bronze. Yet considering this game is the only friendly the USA has EVER lost with NBA players and this 2004 was the only Olympics the USA didn't win with NBA players I wouldn't belittle USA basketball. Italy basketball wasn't even around for 2008 and 2010.
