@boogisan ...10-4...thanks. It was part of my therapy. 3/4 blue chip rock everywhere, river rocks (1" to 6" in diameter), stone lanterns, tsukubais (fountains)...at one time I had 100 orchid plants and 150 other type of plants.
But, I've been neglecting it lately work, family, Karate...not enough time in the days...lol!
Does anyone know if this device is legal in California? I believe any form of "brass knuckles" is illegal here. If anyone has any information, please let us know.
@ip0n3di ...stopped a while ago because of my artrithus, nerve damage, and the Wifey's insistance. But, I've been thinking of doing some new ones...will see...lol!
Wow! all that force focused on that one small point. I think even half that force to someones skull would put them out cold. Great vid. thnx for sharing.
@trebligb Do you ever get a fucking life and stop being a keyboard commando do some of this shit I know I certainly couldn't. Here is a tip for you shut the fuck up, your mouth will get you in trouble someday.
10-4...The Comtech Stinger II makes it easier for me. I don't do Tamshi Wari (Board-Breaking) as much as i used to because of my arthritus and nerve damage.
No not you don't have to be a Karate Master...Just have pproper training and technique.
A person could force a break and just plow throught the boards but, he risk injuring his hand and/or arm. Imagine a large shard of wood penetrating your forearm because of improper technique...ouch!
Tamashi wari (trial by wood-Board Breaking) is as much mental as it is physical. If you're not confident that you can do the break...man you shouldn't even attempt it.
anyhow the Comtech Stinger II is a strike enhancer/fistload to use against an attacker (read info in side-bar). these demonstration wasjust something I was comfortable with...
Keys have there use...I use mine on my Kubaton as a flail.
Now keys as a tactical impact device??? I don't think so. I've shown that the Comtech Stinger II can break( 1, 3, 5, 7,) 1" Pine boards with spacer, (2 & 3) 1" Pine Boards WITHOUT spacers, and (1) 1" pine board-free hanging "a la Enter the Dragon" style....there's articles by Don Rearic, James Keating (inventor) and testimonials in the side-bar.
Post a video of these AMAZING keys and prove they are better...LOL!!!
I respect your point of view nobody can discuss this stuff is so useful, but from my personal experience i used key very successfully in my punches, a key always with you wherever yo go, but when you can expect a possible danger and move this stuff always with you?
What can I say you do have a point. For this to be useful you have to always have it. I carry two(see my EDC update) and you have to be aware of your surroundings.
Always in (Condition Yellow-caution) being prepared...with the clear Comtech Stinger II cupped in your hand you can walk around without drawing attention to yourself.
6Ps-Proper Planning Prevents Piss-Poor Performance...not everyone has this mindset...anyway, thanks for expressing your point of view...OSU!!!(KARATE EXPRESSION)
in the (1) and (3) boards break the comtech stinger absorb all the returning force...Newton's 3rd Law of Physics-for every action there's an equal and opposite re-action.
In this (5) boards break my middle knuckle paid the price it felt like a regular break...but, like I said rush the set-up. Hollow tile blocks not level, boards not level & wobbly...video came out okay I guess...lol
Sounds like they would work pretty good on a human target an not damage your hand. Think you would have to avoid hitting someone in the head if you wanted non lethal force.
Would you believe I was not happy with the break...it was raining hard and I wanted to do the video.
Rain let up... rushed the set up, I was getting wet, rain sprinkling on my camera, not the best of situations. Decided to use it didn't want to waste the shot...OSU!!!(KARATE EXPRESSION)
Cool. What if the small pieces between the planks where not inserted, would it take a harder strike to to break them? Could you try that device against a 2 inch piece of wood?
Yeah I was already making these breaks harder by using chopsticks as spacers. Instead of spacers of the same thickness...as stated earlier this wasn't my best effort..It was raining hard and this is when the rain let up a little. I was rushing because my camera and I was getting wet. Didn't set the hollow tile block right so they were uneven...thus making the boards uneven you could see it wobble...
In my last two board breaking videos the Comtech Stinger absorbed most of the returning force...physics. Because I was rushing (rain) this time it felt like a regular break. I was already making these breaks harder by using chopsticks(closer) as spacers...normally the spacers are of equal thickness...but, I'M okay CONSIDERING the uneven bricks, poor stacking,...sloppy technique this time...J.T.
It looks like a very effective tool, I know from practicing with brass knuckles that the impact can hurt your palm/hand if you use enough force. Technique looks good to me! faster than the naked eye can discern!!

It's standard procedure in board breaking.
I also did a video where I break (2) the (3) boards without spacers...

I know this is off topic but where'd you get that lovely scenery in your backyard?
youseemreallybored 2 years ago
I did it myself...I used to be real passionate about gardening, raising orchid plants, etc.
the only thing in the ground is about 300 sq ft. of grass. the rest is concrete borders, 3/4" blue chip rock, river rocks 1"-6" in diameter.
Basically a Japanes rock garden...stone lanterns, tsukubai (Japanese fountains), orchids and other plants on stacked hollow tile blocks.
but, Family, Karate, life, and now Youtube has left it a little neglected...lol!
HELLZZARMY 2 years ago
Do you know if the comtech stinger is considered a lethal weapon from a legal SD point of view?
PuertoKid 2 years ago
In your State? In Hawaii they have the phrase..."In the manner in which it was used..."
If you're attacked by say two or more people and you used it to defend yourself. I think a good lawyer could get you acquitted.
Me even though I'm an Asst. Instructor in Karate I'm always armed. I'd just shoot my attackers...lol!

Anyway, wood stacked directly on wood is a harder break but, using spacers is how most of the breaks are done..concrete slabs next.
HELLZZARMY 2 years ago
and sure 2" pine boards are possible...you're just increasing the difficulty...
HELLZZARMY 2 years ago
True on 2 inch increasing difficulty, but if can provide the power to break the 2 inch planks you can deal a death strike with ease.
