Jonny the vocalist is straight edge and has been through a hard life. he's worked on the browning for years and years and finally found some guys who can just play his music. it may be simple, but everything is exactly how he has always imagined it. a band doesn't have to be stupid complicated to sound good or get people to move. this band deserves the support.

@Zatreyu91 When you consider Synth as the main electronic element in this band's sound, you can basically vary it around however, yes Synthesizers are the tools that create these sounds you hear with the synth leads and such, but they incorporate more than just Synth, if you hear their songs, they incorporate Hardstyle, Trance, Techno and even Dubstep too, that's why I said from the beginning it's Electronic Dance Music (EDM) because that best describes all these subgenres of Dance Music.

They've eased up on the breakdowns, which is good. Still too much chugging and not enough riffs, and any breakdown is one breakdown too many, but they've definetly progressed.

I just don't like the sound of breakdowns. They sound so monotone to me. At least not the way most bands use them. Not to mention that they arent actually heavy. They just create this false heavyness, and it really bothers me.

Like in Anthems of Apocalypse by Winds of Plague. They just pop out of nowhere, sounding boring and lame, ruinging the rest of an otherwise awesome song. Save for the last one that also closes the song, with the atmospheric synth. That one is awesome.

With that said, there is ONE band I know that have breakdowns that I like.

That would be Marionette, the swedish MDM band. Even though they are essentially a Melodic Death Metal band, they use simple riffs and breakdowns like core bands does.

But they use them in a much more subtle way. In the background, to accompany the riffs, vocals, or just the overall atmosphere of the song. Not to be heavy. And that is, in my opinion, the only way breakdowns sound good. To me at least.
