  • Great Ad. Her look at the end says "You will always be the one but..."

  • "A voice from...One million miles away..from home"

  • Food for thought......Maybe it's not the bride that he is after but the groom!! Either way great ad!

  • @lve2lve007 NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!!!!!XD

  • I constantly fall in love with girls and end up breaking up their weddings. I bought a Jetta in 2008 and it's a great car. Much more fun to drive then cars in the same class/price-range. Not too great in the snow tho. But I have a Subaru for the rare winter-wedding.

  • Where can I find a longer anything with this music? I love this music so much!

  • @sweetpeariot it's j ralph "one million miles away". beautiful song.

  • Its a shame... I'm that guy except I was a minute too late. :(

  • best commercial of all time!

  • I understand that the guy in the car is trying to stop the wedding rather then rushing because he's late and that's the twist.

I don't get why that matters at all though. I have no idea what this add is supposed to mean. What's the message? Why does this make you want buy a volvo?

Maybe they're just trying to get you to think about the add, and therefore, think about volvo?

If that's the case, cadbury did it better.

  • @shiva1055 You mean a VOLKSWAGEN?

  • @bballdude76 I guess I do, my mistake

But I think that shows the flaw in this ad, it doesn't show well enough that it's a VW ad. It's an intriguing ad, but if it hasn't left people with a brand, it's useless.

  • the guy about to get married jus' thought, "WHO DIS NIGGA!?!"

  • Where cam I find THIS version of the song? The one I have has an, in my opinion, rather annoying string section that changes the sound a lot.

  • One of the greatest, in not the greatest commercials ever..

  • I wish we could see what happened next!

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DIRECTOR OF THIS COMMERCIAL?

  • It's Lee from Desperate Housewives :D

  • to all the *ahem* observant people out there that say ''i don't get it'' - the dude in the VW is hauling ass to get to a wedding that has or is about to start. he screeches to a halt in front of the church and rushes in right before the wedding is made final. the look on the groom and the bride upon seeing the VW guy clearly indicate that the VW guy is some past love interest of the bride, and he showed up in the nick of time to keep her from marrying him. how do you not get it?

  • @proverbialson Completely agree. The only thing that I guess would make sense that they don't "get it" is that when you first watch the commerical, you assume that he will be late for his own wedding. Then at the very end it it turns out that it wasn't the case at all, but rather as you indicated...his intention was to completely make sure the wedding didn't happen. Brilliant commerical and a great way to just tell a whole story in 60 seconds.

  • I don't get how it goes with "Fasten seatbelts".

  • The look on her face at the end of the video tells you about their whole relationship... Simply a wonderful AD

  • song name?

  • @roflmaoinmy ''one million miles'' by j ralph

  • I dont get it lol...

  • *wives

  • he plays in desperate houseviwes:D

  • i just lost the love of my life to the love of her life =(

  • @z4JZamora damn that's heartbreaking

  • @z4JZamora You are right. Many people who watched this movie just thinking about a girl. The girl probably has accepted proposal and let her fiance to fall in love. Now, when Prince of fairy tale wake up everybody wish him to catch girl before wedding. Nobody thinks, how awful would be life for poor man, who lose his love.

  • Jetta ruins the lives of hopeful grooms worldwide. Great Job!!!

  • Nevermind, got it!!! "One Million Miles Away" GREAT SONG!!!

  • Awesome song!!! Who's song???

  • Love the music on this commercial :)

  • Haha Chrysler should've don their research before ripping off this song from a competitor auto maker.

  • the ending on the 31 sec short version is better. yes there is a difference if you are cool enough to see it.

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Soooo, if you wanna ruin a wedding...buy a jetta.

    Thanks for the tip VW

  • @bobbybij Wow, you take things way too seriously.

  • Simply one of the coolest commercials EVER.

  • He’s there for her. Look at her face. She can’t decide if she wants him to keep his fool mouth shut or to say what he should have said long ago.

Brilliant tension build-up (we assume he’s the groom), and perfect ending.

  • VR6 is a beast car

  • Actually, though I see where people are coming from with the gay angle, I think this is an homage to the ending of "the Graduate," which is why the father plays such a prominent role here.

  • i think that he came to break up the wedding for the groom, that's why she's so upset to see him. he and the groom make the most eye contact. everyone's checking their watch because they don't want another guy to take away the bride's big day.

  • @ChokingSeams Ha, totally agree-- the look on her face isn't like "oh thank god, he's here," it's more like "oh shit..."

  • @PinkoLady No the groom looks at her accusingly, looking for an explanation

  • Maybe the driver is trying to stop her from marrying his boyfriend? Not that there's anything wrong with that....

  • @happydragon5077

hmmm - nteresting analysis. Never thought of that one. Good one! (Y)

  • @happydragon5077

Possible, but the father of the bride is to invested I think for that to be the case. Either he is trying to get her married before he gets there or he too is waiting wondering the guy is. So I don't think thats the case.

  • does anybody know the name of the song?

  • @edonanarudone One Million Miles Away by J. Ralph

  • @edonanarudone

    J. Ralph: The Illusionary Movements of Geraldine and Nazu is the artist and it is called "One Million Miles Away."

  • was there ever a "sequel" to this commercial? That was big for awhile too. Ad campaigns with continuing stories.

  • dfgb65hjdff cgg hhhj

  • GLX all the way!

  • Oh, you know she's thinking about leaving with the guy in the V-Dub!

  • isn't the guy who plays a gay character in desperate housewife? he is so cute

  • love it

  • Isn't the car driver the Joe-charming-patient-guy from Scrubs?

  • So after a few videos of looking back, "Brand New Lover" by Dead Or Alive and "When Your Heart Is Weak" by Cock Robin stumbled on to this video of sorts. Has Anyone ever wanted to do something like this, admit a mistake was made, asked for a second chance, anyone please...

  • The guy speeding towards the church has a strong resemblance with David Spade.

  • @thegiantpaperpanda I think you mean James Spader, and I think you're absolutely right!

  • @VentrueCapital You're exactly right. I don't know why I typed Spade, lol.

  • the moment I first saw this commercial I fell in love with the girl (bride). she is so beautiful...who is she?

  • Ohhh,And Here Im Thinking That The Guy Was Gonna' Mary The Girl But Was Late,So She Decided To Go With Another Guy Haha.

    ...Horrible. XD

  • i use to love this commerical when i was a kid

  • Guy trying to stop the wedding is hot.

  • @AtomicFall Mm.. but guy she is getting married to is way better I think.. lol but maybe he's boring.

  • From what I see, the guy is there to be with the guy not the girl.

  • @genericmk how do you see that?

all of the focus is on the guy getting there and the woman

  • what song is that?

  • @gyshalom "one million miles away" by composer j. ralph

  • I have the base modeled VW Bora/jetta

  • Esse comercial ficou muito bacana!

Outro comercial que também é bem legal é o CARRO MESMO!

Acessa o link e confira os bastidores da campanha:

    Busca Avessotv - Carro mesmo!

    Abraços!

  • Is that the guy in desperate housewives driving the car?

  • @phillia5 Yep

  • @phillia5 yes! that's why I went looking for it on youtube, to verify that it's the gay guy from DH. awesome.

  • That bride is Gorgeous. I cant stop looking her face.

  • Ahh, now it's clear after seeing he is driving a VW Jetta. The driver is trying to stop the wedding, as the marriage would be a lie. He has driven a "million miles" to whisk away his true love... the groom. After all, in just a few years of the commercial, their marriage will be legal in 6 states.

  • Actually, the word Jetta means 'Jet Stream' in German while for the Passat is 'Trade Wind', and for the well-known hatch Golf, means 'Gulf Stream'.

  • whats the name of that song can someone tell me I love that song

  • love the song. does anyone know the name?

  • @frenchylexi the songs called (A million Miles Away by j Ralph)

  • the continuation is clear.... "Fasten your seatbelts" means "War is coming"!!!

  • British Telecom is the shittiest internet provider ever, can't even load a simple video without stuttering halfway through. Ruins the atmosphere of this beautiful piece.

  • British Telecom is the shittiest internet provider ever, can't even load a simple video without stuttering halfway through. Ruins the atmosphere of this beautiful piece.

  • Yu Know i heard a long time ago that JETTA stood for

Just Enough Time To Attend.. that would really fit this video if that is true....

  • The look on the groom's face as he realizes the implication of this man busting into his wedding and the instant of anger before the GREATEST moment... when a millisecond after that thought he then realizes that if he has come to the weading for the reason to halt the ceremony...he must have a reason and turns to his bride with utter shock and disdain...uh you can really feel the treachery. That was a priceless moment for a simple car commercial. I still want the car years later too...BRAVO!

  • you are right for a car commercial this is so deep. you can look at it 10 diff times and find 10 diff points of view. you can tell this profound b/c years after this commercial has come and gone people keep talking about it and its meaning.

  • @rogerpidactor21 "you can really feel the treachery. That was a priceless moment for a simple car commercial. I still want the car years later too"

    agreed !!

  • The guy driving the VW looks a lot like James Spader.

To the people who don't understand this commercial....wow.

  • I love this song and commercial.

  • who are the actors

  • Comment removed

  • I didn´t understand O.o

  • @Ismalith the priest said "Speak now or forever hold your patience" and the man doesnt want to hold his patience cuz his got a jetta VR6 ;)

  • oh so that's the jerk who cut me and my trailer off.. i didn't get a good look at him until now..

  • @phox67 LOL! Wow that actually made me laugh out loud. Funny comment!

  • iiiiiiii.... don't get it?

  • how can u not get it? the guy in the jetta is the "other man" who she obviously wants and was expecting to storm in and stop the wedding proclaiming his love for her. and if you pay attention, the father was expecting him too...

  • this advertising was never broadcasted in italy

  • this commercial is perfect! i remember seeing it (and getting it) when i was a kid - i don't understand how people are confused by it, it's lovely!

  • Dose anyone know what the song is ???

Or who it's done by ??? thanx

  • @skpdaf8 the name of the song is one million miles away.. forgot who sings it, but just youtube that, you'll find it

  • Hey thanx !

  • J. Ralph - One million miles away

  • J. Ralph - million miles away

  • Well, the original inspiration was the movie 'The Graduate.'

  • Who is the ad agency? Who is the director? Can anyone here help me out?

  • the director writers of this commercial deserve a god damned emmy/oscar. it conveys so much emotion.

  • emmys/oscars = epic fail, no offense

  • i take offense, ass hole

  • lmfao what the fuck ever

  • I disagree, its cold, rather like the way that any VW leaves me feeling. You don't even know at the end which one is going to run off with him!! Its not very original as Rover did it in 1989 for the launch of their 200 series car. Renault copied it again in 1998 for their Clio MK2.

  • dully noted, my man.

  • @rvbgrifrules then you have never watched mexican telenovelas... every one is like this! LOL LOL :)

  • the best what can happen to you

  • i love this commercial and want to know what happens next! time for a new commercial! P.S. I want the guy in the car to get the girl and her father is ticked off!

  • That video made me fell in love with the Jetta a loooong time ago... gosh i'm gettin old xD

  • @shortandsheep: The guy in the car had feelings for the lady who is going to get married. So he is racing to get to her before she says I do. That's why she kinda looks shocked and unsure what to do when he shows up. The name of the song is one million miles away which fits the scenario in the commercial perfectly.

  • but as the commercial plays, you first think that the guy in the car is the groom, who happens to be late, thats why everyone is worried and hes rushing...but hes not, hence the twist.

  • Ahh now I get it =] thanks.

  • Being there is sexy in itself.

  • There was another commercial that was great like this, I believe it was from Saturn. It shows just the drive train and the car gets built around the driver and the announcer says "first we make it safe then we make it beautiful". It had one of the best acoustic music I've heard but It is the one commercial I can not find. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  • I get chills when the girl looks back and then you see "Fasten your seatbelts"

  • I loved this commercial when I first saw it on tv and it seemed to be at trend for awhile for car commercials to have a serious beautiful feel to them. While comedy works well for a commercial, the ones of this trend was like watching a short movie and at times had a deeper meaning other than just buying a product.

  • I love this song anyone knows where I can get it? or who made it?

  • it's one million miles away by J. Ralph. I just downloaded it.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • J.Ralph: One million miles away.

  • Cheers, you're a darling.

  • Open a new window with Grizzly Bear and Victoria Legrand's song "Slow Life" and place song on 57 seconds in and play simultaneously with this commercial. It fits quite nicely. Good idea "shcaron1"

  • Me and my girlfriend made a sexy version of this vid that is so much finer

  • i dont get it, the car didnt make it on time

  • The commercial is about a guy trying to stop the wedding. He made it in time right at "speak now or forever hold your peace" which is when the priest asks if anyone objects to the marriage. The woman is clearly not happy about the marriage and is wondering where the guy in the car is.

  • @Funktasmic It could be that . . . and it could be that the guy is the best man and is trying to get to the church in time to hand the ring to the groom!

  • @Funktasmic what a bitch haha

  • @Funktasmic the ad was incomplete, the complete ending was the guy and the groom hold hands, run out of the church and drove away in the VW.

  • @allan9654 Oh, then I understand it. Without that this was totally incomprehensible.

  • My favorite commercial

lol never thought I'd have one

  • i dont get it

  • he is in loads of movies, but dont have an name..

  • VERY CLEAVER AND SIMPLE

  • Who is the actor. He looks familiar.

  • Kevin Rahm. He was on Judging Amy and now appears on Desperate Housewives, amongst others. He's one of my favorites.

  • Thanks.

He is good on Desperate Housewives.

  • i dont get it, too...

  • um this commercial is just telling us that jetta vr6 is slow cause he got married to the wrong person sadly

  • Want to make this commercial even better? Open two windows, one with this video and one with Damien Rice's 9 Crimes vide on youtube. Silence the commercial and play it right at 2:22 in the Nine Crimes song... and watch the goosbumps emerge. It might kill you it's so good.

  • Or not...lol

  • wow it actually is amazing. good call.

  • yeah that's pretty good!

  • Wow it does fit just perfectly with that song.

  • Oooh, nice. Not goosebumpy nice, but still pretty good.

  • Good mashup!

  • This is my all time fave commercial--but why does it seem slightly sped up??

  • Best music for a commercial ever thanx Toomuchtv you just made my whole fucking year!!

  • it's Kevin Rahm ahaha, somehow this guy keeps popping up in everything I switch on

  • Wow. This is my all-time favorite commercial. I could watch this over and over.

  • the bride is so cute...

  • hahah. the driver...its Lee from Deserate Housewives right xD?

  • makes me want to buy a Jetta

  • and wreck weddings? ;)

  • i miss this commercial

  • very cool ad

  • I dont get this~~~

  • You fail.

  • isn't that the Bora?

  • yes

  • Anyone know what the name of the female vocalist who sung for the song?

  • judging by the previous comment by "Rdcoaxum" - I'd say the song is by J. Ralph ;)
