I really hate to see a wonderful song almost ruined by a rubbish video. And a micro-budget's got nothing to do with it either - check out the Stone Roses' 'Ten Storey Love Song' - another great example! :) On the other hand, the Jesus and Mary Chain made the 'Reverence' video for a grand and proved you can STILL look inventive with no money!
this was used very briefly on a Stone Roses tv program back in the late 80s, Rapido i think it was called - anyway i remember searching every last b-side, remix and song of the Roses to find out what it was, and finally today i find out it wasnt their song at all. Great tune, and the Roses were fucking great aswell.
constellation - not a million miles away.... however HOL broke up because of one person and one person alone...... he thought he was the messiah and wanted it to be all him.... I know, I was there.......
They fell apart due to a combination of heavy touring, heavy drinking/drug taking and bad management...They were feted as 'the next Smiths',but it all went sour when they signed to a major label who didn't really know how to market them. Shame really, as their early singles were brilliant-'Destroy The Heart' was/is fantastic...
how do you judge recognition anyways? Magazines that you happen to read that mention their names? Unless you conduct a survey of all music fans of that time period, you'll never know of their recognition. Don't worry about how you feel they were unappreciated, worry if you in fact appreciate above and beyond other people's opinion.
Great band, saw the original line up a few times in the late 80's in London, when they first started out. Once they left Creation and signed with Fontana the sparkle seemed to wain.............................A pity as they were brilliant.
Another fantastic band that never quite made it - the combination of Terry Bickers's speed guitar work and pedal changes with Guy Chadwicke's swooping vocals...them's were the days, I'm tellin ye' boys!
I've been looking for this song for years. It's one of those songs you love the first time you hear it and simply can't get enough. Thanks for posting this.
What an underrated band! Of course comparisons to Jesus & Mary Chain, Ride, My Bloody Valentine Inspiral Carpets or even the Chameleons (another underrated) and many other bands from that 80-90 era is there, but still. Beautiful voice, great guitar. They sure deserve(d) more.

Great song, video is poor, but remember, they never had a support from record company. If they had, they would have been one of the most popular bands in the world. They have quality...
