As I watched it I started crying showed how selfish and weak I was. Rudy motivated me lit the fire within me. I got up shaved and returned to training.

I was almost an extra for this movie...I lived in southwest Michigan at the time and there was an ad in the paper. A number of the football players came from Western Michigan University, where I grew up (Kalamazoo) and occasionally I'd see someone with a "Rudy" crew jacket years later. While I love the score, the movie was pretty lame and "Rudy" Ruettiger has pretty much made a career out of promoting himself, which is pretty pathetic.

I loved the music in this part of Rudy. It made your heart race, and made you root for Rudy the entire time. Made you get excited about football, and everything that was going on. This was the best movie of all time. Sean Astin is so adorable and this character Rudy is an inspiration to anyone with a heart. Let's all never doubt anyone's dreams ever again. Man... Playing this song over and over in my head was what got me to go and try out for football this past year as a senior. I was only 110 pounds coming out... My coach threw me into corner for the last play of the season because he thought that was where I was least likely to get hurt. I ended up with a lucky (and I mean lucky) interception... only to fumble the ball when I got hit...

But man... being carried off that field that night by my teammates was the best damn feeling I ever felt

My varsity baseball coach literally told me not to expect playing time but I had worked so hard he was gonna put me on the team. First game of the year, I had a pinch-hit walk-off base hit to win the game, and started the rest of the year. Every time I outworked everyone on the field or in the weight room (I gained about 10 lbs of muscle that year), I heard this theme in my head.

When you were there, you get to where you hate it. The season ends, & whether it was good, bad, or great, it's over. you graduate. then you go back that following season, but it's never the way it used to be, & the things u hated become the things u love & treasure.
