Nô theatre is a very formalized style of performance actually quite close to that of ancient Greek theatre, with chanters in the background supporting the story and actors expressing intense emotion through expressive movement and lament. It's a pitty I don't understand Japanese, it would certainly enhance my appreciation for this artform. I think it's a must-see for anyone who likes the fine arts of opera and theatre.
This was the most moving thing I have ever seen.

They really don't use vernacular Japanese at all, so it still is hard for a normal Japanese speaker.
