  • WHY DOES GOD ALWAYS TAKE THE GOOD PEOPLE? R I P BARRY....YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAS DONE WONDERFUL THINGS, I'M SURE, FOR ALL OF US

  • The Cowsills Forever!!! Very Good Times that never come again... I like then very much...and I remember "Os Caçulas" (Brazil), another excellent vocal group that time also took away :-( I miss all you...

  • I would very much appreciate a DVD of All The Cowsills appearances on TV

  • Everytime I see this, I still laugh whenever I hear Barry say, "The luncheon cave, the luncheon cave." His voice and they way he says it is so cute & funny. Sometimes when I'm doing some cleaning or something around the house, I say, "the luncheon cave, the luncheon cave" to my self and chuckle. Weird, I know, but it just tickles me to hear and remember how he says those words.Too bad he had to die.Truly a great talent.

  • I had the biggest crush on Barry when I was 11 or 12.

  • I like the dirty look Mom Cowsill gave to Paul when he said the host is in charge of "production and re production".

    Funny!

  • I guess they were actually talking about Bud Cowsill and what his role was. Funny! I love the response from Mom and Paul.

  • What a terrific song. The Cowsills talent never ceases to amaze me. I remember seeing their pics in all the teen magazines in the early 70's.

But as famous as they were, I'd STILL say they were under-rated! Thanks for posting this too!

  • I love this. What a beautiful song but it makes me a little sad. Life is bitter Sweet

. They were often compared to the Partridge Family....a travisty. The Cowsills were the real deal, not some Hollywood manufactured product.

They were and are great musicins with songs and harmonies that will stand the test of time. That cannot be said of most music you hear today.

  • Maybe you are unaware that the Partridge family was based on the Cowsills. The company that produced the show wanted the kids but they wanted to replace the real mother with Shirley Jones. The kids told them that their real mother had to be in the show or no deal. They then got Cassidy, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, and the two little ones and as they say the rest is history.

  • Hey bigkelly....yes I am aware of the history but nonetheless the comparisons were always, I felt, unfairly made. I also believe, the squeeky clean milk commercial didn't help them connect with the so called "hip" counter-culture of the time. I admit I was a Cowsills closet fan.

Thanks for keeping the dialog going. The Cowsills deserve the attention.

  • Ukulele: Point taken. Just last week a staff writer for our local newspaper made the statement that "The Rain, Park and Other Things" was the worst summertime song ever. Well I called in and told him a thing or three. I'm going to have to get their new CD.

  • I can't believe that this song wasn't a hit, I've never heard it before. What a great video!

  • The Cowsills desreved so much more credit. They were really enjoyable.

  • I think they were so cute when they were little.

    :)

  • These days will live in my memory for as long as I live. I weep when I see Barry and Bill though. The whole family is special to me. And I am special to them. Barbara was the onewho taught me how to love classical music, those many years ago.

  • Thanks, Weezy.

  • hall of fame for sure

  • Thanks for bringing back some great memories. What a treat !

  • Just curious. Was this song released on any record or CD?

  • You can find the song on an album called "Global" at (I guess I'm not allowed to type urls so I think you'll understand this... cowsill dot com :)

  • Got it!

    Thanks.

    :)

  • @louisepalanker I want that and the "Cocaine" thing SO BAD, but it's only offered as downloads now, and I don't go there with my tunes.

I'd send you $45 for the burns by money order, and you can keep what ya want and put what ya want in a fund for whatever child he left behind if any.

No lie, "Global" and Cocaine" aren't offered on e-Bay, and I don't use Pay-Pal, anyway.

  • louisepalanker>> Thanks for the info on the CD Global.

  • That absolutely blew me away! Awesome!
