74D's look here; Don'y be fooled by recruiters. DO NOT bring civilian cloths other than what you have, and make sure it's light. You won't get to wear them at AIT. If the rules are changed when you get there, just buy some. I made the mistake of bringing a few outfits. Also, for everyone; DO NOT BRING OR BUY WHEELED SUIT CASES.

This video is NOT a good representation of what Basic Combat Training is really like. When I was at Reception at Fort Benning, Georgia, we get yelled at CONSTANTLY! Don't let this video fool you. You WILL get yelled at during Reception and will fucking hate it. Reception is worse than BCT.

In the Air Force we did all this in the reception week, but it was one of the worst weeks of all. Getting screamed at everywhere, MTI's were definitively the toughest on us then. The Army gets babied into everything they do. They get their hand held and tell exactly what to do. Army is pathetic.

Ahhh fuck, I remember watching this video in reception. Be prepared to have no sleep for 72 hours, but it is the hardest part about Basic. The rest is all Right Time, Right Place and Right Uniform.

I'm a United States Naval Sea Cadet...Army BCT doesn't look as nearly as intense as my boot camp was at Camp Dodge, as far as the drill instructors yelling and screaming goes that is.
