Caught a few today, with really light spinning gear, some spinners and plugs, the BEST way to fish for bass, and man, they hit them lures hard!

and i held it with great difficulty !

If you catch fish this size on live prawn, just think what you could get on live sandeel - not easy to get or keep alive though.

can any one take pity on a fat usless basterd like myself, and take me to someware where i can cach a nice bass bigger than 6oz my personal best, might i add my only bloody bass ever, i live in weston super mare and even my best mates son has cought a 9lb bass and he was 7 years old of the wall here in weston but i think that was a fluke, happy days to you all, ivan

hey do you ever come down fishing in torquay? i go to hopesnose quite alot. Thinking about getting a new rod and reel but i don't want to get a flimsy reel. How can you tell which rods are good for feathering and spinner ect?

@joewizard100 Hey Joe yeah I fish at Hopes nose but not just yet I fish it around end of July to late autumn, oh dear so your a chicken chucker : ( you can get much better sport on light tackle Float fishing for the mac and gar.

If you need some advise pop dwn to the tacle shop on Torquay Harbour and speck to Simon he is a really nice honest guy who will point you in the right direction tel him Rob sent you : )

Live prawn will always attract small fish first, Get a decent bait out there like a half a pound live Mackerel, that'll sought out the biguns.

@creamtt we use joey mac from the boat in deeper water, this ground is very snaggy and shallow so prawn works well, we have had 7lb plus fish on live prawn last year it is a very underestamated bait
