your romans reference is cancelled out by two other verse lol 1 Corinthians 6:9-10: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor "HOMOSEXUAL" :P
and also leviticus 20:13:Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable
I genuinely don't understand how this "Day of Silence" is supposed to solve anything. Just think about it, when you want to draw attention to a problem, especially one as important as anti-LGBT violence, being silent is the EXACT FUCKING OPPOSITE of what you should do. Gays should be vocal, protest, hold up signs. The Holocaust is proof that silence doesn't do anybody any good. If you don't like it, don't shut your mouth and hope someone notices, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
My point is, society is a compilation of an infinite amount of views on sexual orientation. I know that I'm secure with who I am, and I don't need sympathy for that. I know I'm different, and how people look at me, but adding to the drama of it all is, I guess, unecessary. For those who appreciate Day of Silence, they're probably insecure about themselves, and want the sympathy for it. But all I ask for is to be treated equally.
Understand that I am glad you're not like most people though.
I think that the whole idea of Day of Silence is forever lost, and people usually just do it now to seem respectable by "supporting" gays, lesbians, etc. I'm bisexual myself, and I honestly don't feel the need for someone to cut off their friends and family for a day "in my honor". There are more serious matters to pay respect to than this. And if you say we're just like you, why are you treating us different? We know that people have different views on us, but we mostly accept it.
I'm a year late to do this, but yes i did participate last year, for the first time. And in first period I got in a fight with my best friend. He just didn't understand the use of it, but o well.
I love that you used a verse from the bible, cuz my friends and I have been saying that for a while. I'm bisexual, love god and openly believe in him, and just because im bi doesn't mean he'd forget about all the good things I've done in his honor. Right?
My friend was also mad at me for doing this, but it's something I support. and last year was my first year doing it. This year I'm in my first year of high school and Im getting my friends to do it. I'm actually excited about day of silence. I'm gonna do another video, talking about it again :]
kind of like a yearly update :]
and you're right, he won't forget all the good thinks you have done in his honor. Like I stated in the Video, as long as you don't deny him, he won't deny you.(:
I'm a long time late on watching this but yeah, I agree with you and I think it is great that you support the homosexuals because they're just like everyone else =D.
i love the fact that you arent afraid to use a bible reference to make your point and i completely agree. one of my best friends is gay and he is one of the most christian people i know.
