True science is not politically motivated as Christoppher1994 indicated. Yes there are those who claim that they have disproved climate change but they are those who are politically driven. Then you ask why their studies have shown that climate change isn't happening? That is because it is possible to engineer a test to disprove almost everything in the universe.
Is the climate changing? Well yes it is. Recycling plastic causes more pollution in melting it down (including toxic residue) then it would cause by just throwing it out.

Global warming is NOT caused by some volcano activity or solar activity. People are causing global warming with all the oil burning and air pollution!
I dont think people are helping the situation, but I dont think its all caused by people. Who ever said it was just a coincidence? We say that the slight warming is caused by greater solar activity along with greater underwater volcano activity. We also say the warming is natural and harmless to Earth's lifeforms, which have adapted to much worse over the centuries.
Recycling is good. Recycling certain materials is bad. Recycling glass and metal, Good. Why? Because producing these materials from raw sources is extremely labor and energy intensive, whereas processing recycled metal and glass is very cheap by comparison. Glass is easier to make when recycled glass pellets are mixed with the raw materials.
Recycling paper and plastic is bad. These goods require more energy and manpower to recycle than to produce from raw materials, and the product is inferior
Paper is entirely biodegradable, and paper is generally made from trees which are being clear cut for other purposes, or which are grown specifically on tree farms owned by paper companies, because it is cheaper and more efficient to farm your own trees than keep bribing government officials to let you cut down existing forests.
Recycled plastic is invariably inferior to fresh plastic, requires intense chemical and energy treatments, doesnt save a penny, produces more pollution, and just sucks.
Etimos: Recycled glass actually only holds 90% of the strength produced by glass through raw material. Continued recycling of glass only makes a more brittle final product.
As for plastics, PET can be "upcycled", going through a process that changes the chemical structure. It's pricey now, but it's in research to make it more cost effective, and produces a product that is stronger and lighter than steel, and less costly to manufacture than carbon fiber.
while there is potential for future plastic recycling of certain types, which can indeed produce very fine results, since it is still cost and energy intensive, my original comment still stands.
As for the recycled glass, I humbly suggest that the brittleness of recycled glass versus virgin glass has more to do with the temperature than the materials, since using granulated recycled glass enables glassmakers to produce glass at a lower temperature than with virgin silica.
Unlike plastics, whose chemistry changes when applied to heat or chemical recycling agents, the chemistry of glass whether virgin or recycled does not change. What changes is the semicrystalline structure of the glass, which is determined in part by molding temperature and other conditions.
The 90% strength you mention can reasonably be accounted for by the fact that, depending on how much recycled glass is added t the silica mix, the glass can be produced at a 10-30% lower temperature.
Thus, while partly recycled glass on average may be more brittle than virgin glass, that degradation of strength remains constant relative to the melting temperature, and does not continue to degrade beyond that threshold regardless of how many times a particular portion of glass is actually recycled.
In short, while recycled glass uses less energy and material to produce, it produces a more brittle product due to the lower melting temperature, which affects the glass structure.
The same can be said of metal recycling, to an extent, since metal itself tends toward crystal-like latticed structures whose composition is determined partly by the casting temperature, cooling methods, etc.
The quality of the metal also degrades due to the amount of unintended 'mixing' that goes on when composite or improperly sorted recycled metals of different types are melted down together to form a new composite alloy, where the impurities produce a very slight variation in quality.

The earth as a matter of fact is getting colder, we're in for a frosty ride if this continues. About the ice caps: THEY'VE BEEN GROWING! Only a smaller portion of the antarctic is breaking off. most of it is growing though. About crops: They grow better in heat.

has anybody watched the recyycle episode of penn and tellers Bull$#!@ it mentions that aluminum cans are the only thing worth recycling, both for the environment and for financial reasons. Recycling plastic causes more pollution in melting it down (including toxic residue) then it would cause by just throwing it out.

I dont think people are helping the situation, but I dont think its all caused by people. The earth goes through big shifts in its tempter, but people dont need to be contributing to the problem by throwing tones of carbon in the air or filling our landfills with petroleum products that dont decompose. Man is only momentary and we should do as much as we can to elongate that moment.

Recycling is good. Recycling certain materials is bad. Recycling glass and metal, Good. Why? Because producing these materials from raw sources is extremely labor and energy intensive, whereas processing recycled metal and glass is very cheap by comparison. Glass is easier to make when recycled glass pellets are mixed with the raw materials.
Recycling paper and plastic is bad. These goods require more energy and manpower to recycle than to produce from raw materials, and the product is inferior

Paper is entirely biodegradable, and paper is generally made from trees which are being clear cut for other purposes, or which are grown specifically on tree farms owned by paper companies, because it is cheaper and more efficient to farm your own trees than keep bribing government officials to let you cut down existing forests.
Recycled plastic is invariably inferior to fresh plastic, requires intense chemical and energy treatments, doesnt save a penny, produces more pollution, and just sucks.

Etimos: Recycled glass actually only holds 90% of the strength produced by glass through raw material. Continued recycling of glass only makes a more brittle final product.
As for plastics, PET can be "upcycled", going through a process that changes the chemical structure. It's pricey now, but it's in research to make it more cost effective, and produces a product that is stronger and lighter than steel, and less costly to manufacture than carbon fiber.

while there is potential for future plastic recycling of certain types, which can indeed produce very fine results, since it is still cost and energy intensive, my original comment still stands.
As for the recycled glass, I humbly suggest that the brittleness of recycled glass versus virgin glass has more to do with the temperature than the materials, since using granulated recycled glass enables glassmakers to produce glass at a lower temperature than with virgin silica.

Unlike plastics, whose chemistry changes when applied to heat or chemical recycling agents, the chemistry of glass whether virgin or recycled does not change. What changes is the semicrystalline structure of the glass, which is determined in part by molding temperature and other conditions.
The 90% strength you mention can reasonably be accounted for by the fact that, depending on how much recycled glass is added t the silica mix, the glass can be produced at a 10-30% lower temperature.

The same can be said of metal recycling, to an extent, since metal itself tends toward crystal-like latticed structures whose composition is determined partly by the casting temperature, cooling methods, etc.
The quality of the metal also degrades due to the amount of unintended 'mixing' that goes on when composite or improperly sorted recycled metals of different types are melted down together to form a new composite alloy, where the impurities produce a very slight variation in quality.
