A tornado can form any where, It starts from a severe thunderstorm and an unstable / off balanced atmosphere.. When winds in the upper atmosphere are faster than the winds on the sufface thunderstorms will convert these winds in there updraft and when up and down motion contuniues, The a tornado will form...
Mini tornado my ass! had to be atleast a EF1 Tornado which are 86-110mph winds!
The Uk is well known for getting lots of tornados all are very weak but every so many years their is a powerful one. A bridge in London was destroyed by a masive tornado hundreds of years ago and a naval fleet was once destroyed. Every few hundred years we get something like an F4 rated tornado.
Don't they have tornado warnings? We get lots of tornadoes here in the States and we are used to it and we know what to do. They need to teach the people what to do in a tornado.
@CDPDPatrolUnit No there's no tornado warnings or sirens here, most houses don't even have basements except for the really old buildings. If a major tornado ever hit the UK there would just be complete panic & mayhem
@funnylittlegirl12345 We actually have the second highest frequency of tornadoes in the world (after the Netherlands) taking area into account. They are just usually weaker and shorter living!
i remmember when i was going to art in st josephs and a tsunami hit the school and we got a whole 2 years off school while they were rebuilding the school and i am still off right now.
I remember this, my dad said he was at Stratford train station when this happened which is some miles away, but he said even where he was the wind was almost blowing him off his feet and all around him was jet black clouds and than marball sized hailstones started comming down and he could he roaring thunder in the distance, He said he thought something unushal was going on it wern't until he got to his office that he heard there had been a tornado!
It was terrifying, the noise it made as it passed by, and hearing everything flying, I'll never forget how it felt, because you know there's nothing you can do, you've just got to hope. There aren't even any proper tornado warnings or safety procedures over here - no one's told us the right things to do, in cases like this. Now it's over, I can look back and say "it was an experience", but I tell you, those stormchasers in America have got balls of steel. Respect. :P
i was at home minding the dog so as left i seen a funnel cloud & i fought it could never happen in england but it did so i got under the stairs & coverd my head i pooped myself that day
Our weather men have their hands tied behind their backs they call them mini tornados and refuse to declare a tornado whatch even though they have a whatch running in the studio. Amazing about the 737 flying through it and the pilots wondering why the hell the plane was all over the place.
