Besides, River is his wife. She knows him not by his face, but by something in his eyes. Hence, why she wasn't at all fazed by 10's appearance because his eyes looked "so young," even though he's ALWAYS been much older than she is.

It is reasonable to therefore asume that even if she doesn't have any on-screen action after a certain point. That she will be around in the docters future regenerations. So all this is evidance of is the docter wants to make a start now and discovers that before his next regen, this body shares her last adventure.
I died a little towards the end. So very sad, just thinking that the other River was going to die soon and that the other doctor knows about it but he can't do anythiung about it other than give her the screwdriver.

@kaibasgirl01 If you have Netflix: stream episodes 4.9 and 4.10 ("Silence in the Library/The Planet of the Dead"). It's the first episode where River Song is introduced. You really need to see those; I don't think it'll have the same effect if someone just explained it to you.

The Singing Towers Of Darillium. *sadface* I wonder if that will be an episode in series 7, and act as a prequel to "Silence In The Library" and "Forest Of The Dead".
It's an extra episode, and the rules get slacked. Particularly the don't cross your own timeline one. So it's more like 'this is what it would be similar to' than a proper part of the DW timeline.
But it is set after "The Wedding of River Song" and possibly after the Christmas episode, depending on whether you assume amy/rory are there because they actually hooked up again, or if this is a 'what if' scenario that includes them not yet being left behind. (After the wedding he pretends to die)
@Morhek Because a copyright extends only to an EXACT copy of a work. Therefore, mirroring the image renders a film that is different in at least one aspect from the copyrighted work. It's a nice loophole. Almost as if created by Moffatt himself.

The fact that River tells the 10th Doctor...wait...could she have told the 10th Doctor about what happened that he was supposed to have told her his name? She can't know his name, since 11 didn't actually tell her, unless he did when River looked into the fake Doctor's eye. So many possibilities.

@kaibasgirl01 If you have Netflix: stream episodes 4.9 and 4.10 ("Silence in the Library/The Planet of the Dead"). It's the first episode where River Song is introduced. You really need to see those; I don't think it'll have the same effect if someone just explained it to you.

It's an extra episode, and the rules get slacked. Particularly the don't cross your own timeline one. So it's more like 'this is what it would be similar to' than a proper part of the DW timeline.
But it is set after "The Wedding of River Song" and possibly after the Christmas episode, depending on whether you assume amy/rory are there because they actually hooked up again, or if this is a 'what if' scenario that includes them not yet being left behind. (After the wedding he pretends to die)

@Morhek Because a copyright extends only to an EXACT copy of a work. Therefore, mirroring the image renders a film that is different in at least one aspect from the copyrighted work. It's a nice loophole. Almost as if created by Moffatt himself.

@timothytia You answered your own question. River and the Doctor have to let the Silence and everyone else think he's dead. The fact that River tells the 10th Doctor...wait...could she have told the 10th Doctor about what happened that he was supposed to have told her his name? She can't know his name, since 11 didn't actually tell her, unless he did when River looked into the fake Doctor's eye. So many possibilities.
