Absolutely serious. The fans in the crowd had this down right, until about 1998, when they suddenly started botching it up, and they've been doing it wrong ever since. As a KU grad who actually knew this without the video, I'm glad someone's trying to fix them, because it's been driving me nuts for over 10 years.
The video is awesome because people will be clapping with the right timing and in the right order but at the wrong times now and the clapping/band will drown each other out.
This is nicely done and professional. I've been a Jayhawk fan for 40+ years and have never figured it out. Great job on the video and the teaching (thanks to the band members helping out also).
@tonypena7 I'm a student at Ku. Yes, they have all the freshmen watch this at the beginning of the year, sitting in the football stadium. It's called Traditions Night, and I live in the same hall as this guy, Matt Hedrick. So, in summary, it's all seriousl... painfully serious. Haha

@JGinKorporated um, plenty of former Baby Jays have given away their identities. It isn't like they are sworn to silence. While they are Baby Jay, they are not supposed to say so, but I have met 3 former Baby Jays and 4 Big Jays... I'm pretty sure by stupid, the mean something like "ugh I can't get this darn thing" or "why won't this stupid thing work".
