  • I can see the difference between these cutscenes and the animated series. The cartoon's on a much higher level of quality, but.... on the other hand, this videogame's cutscenes are much more violent! I wish the cartoon didn't have such a strict kiddie rating.....

  • @lunseisleidee The quality is there, but they had to cut is down for the Sega CD/Genesis's color limitations and data rate of the 1x CD drive. (with limited decompression capabilities)

I seem to remember quite a few of the early episodes from Batman being that violent. (not sure about the later ones) Very dark.

  • @lunseisleidee The series was already quite dark and violent for an early 90s saturday morning TV show, despite painstakingly showing that even in the thickest of fights, no character ever got fatally wounded. Of course, the obvious Evil Dead reference shown in this here video game would never have made it into TV, but then, the game wasn't produced by Warner Bros. anyway. None of the TAS crew, apart from the voice actors, were involved with the game.

  • @lunseisleidee For the time, they were really pushing it. Censors were constantly on their backs about what they couldn't do with it. It was the first time in a superhero show that real firearms were depicted (and not sci-fi laser guns), and that was a taboo thing for cartoons, as well as the copious amount of gambling scenes, general dark themes and realistic fighting. They were lucky they were allowed to show what they did.

  • At least the cut scenes in this game are good
