@brentsrx7 The Mustang has never been made in mexico dumb ass also jeep is and independent co. but is 20% owned by Fiat and 20% by Chrysler and will never be in any way related to Mercedes-Benz ever
@ZKrashB It is well known that the Cherokee is a Mercedes ML with a new body. Sry to burst the bubble, but corporate sharing is a big part of the automotive industry. VW uses the Grand Caravan chassis for its van... It is a fairly common practice.
I think what the commercial is trying to say is that this car's chassis was designed in Germany (Mercedes) Manufactured all over the world by an Italian company (Fiat). The only thing made in America is the popping of all the parts together. Its not made here, Its popped together like a Lego set. China built it, Mercedes engineered it. A Toyota is more American than Jeep for god sake.
@ChiefsFan581 Errrr, Sry to burst the bubble, I want a Cherokee really bad, But it is a Mercedes ML chassis.... It was part of the tech left over from the buyout.
@brookepotter842 All American, I can by a Challenger made in Canada, A mustang made in Mexico, or a Honda designed and built in south Carolina... It disgusts me just as much as you dude.
@theMillerWolf Willies Jeeps were built in the 40's... A Toyota pickup or SUV is also built, designed, and engineered here. So why don't you get your head out of your patriotic ass and see how the world is changing.
No it's not,Toyota is a Japanese car company, they design and engineer the cars in Japan and on occasion build their vehicles here in the US. The company was founded in Japan and is in Japan. They may have some factories here in America to build them, but they are designed and engineered in Japan, always have been. Oh and FYI it's spelled Willy's.
@theMillerWolf Oh FYI, I work in the Automotive industry as an automotive designer. You have no fucking idea what your talking about. Read a book or something before you post, and stop embarrassing yourself.
The commercial is perfection. Kudos to the people are Chrysler. They seem to get it. GM on the other hand.... not so much.
I think it's an amazing commerical. But it's a lot to live up to. Let's hope the vehicle does. It looks fabulous inside. Outside is okay, but front grill is kinda ugly. Hope it's made well. If we were in the market for a car, we'd consider the jeep just based on this commercial alone.
The new Grand Cherokee "was imagined, drawn, carved, stamped, hewn, & forged here, in America." Except it's got a Mercedes M-Class chassis. And the Italians run Jeep now. I'm just sayin'.
The new Grand Cherokee "was imagined, drawn, carved, stamped, hewn, & forged here, in America." Except it's got a Mercedes M-Class chassis. And the Italians run Jeep now. I'm just sayin'.
Beautifully done commercial, but a nit to pick. How come they show the Empire State Building and not the gorgeous Chrysler Building?? I realize Chrysler no longer occupies that building, but still!! It is still the Chrysler Building and Jeep is still a Chrysler brand!
This is the greatest commercial I've ever seen. I have never wanted to buy a product more than after watching this spot. Simply amazing advertising, there will probably be a Jeep Grand Cherokee in my future!
Love this commercial. I was brought up a chevy man, but I bought my first grand cherokee 8 years ago and I havent looked back. Go Jeep! I love this commercial.
This commercial and the new JGC look GREAT. I've already decided to dump my POS 2005 4Runner for one of these once they hit the local dealerships. Chrysler and Jeep have pulled out all the stops in an attempt to make this vehicle a world class one.
Sure, the lines are smoother and the features are more sophisticated but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is still a Jeep; just a more upscale one than some are used to.
Not to rain on your parade, but the new Grand Cherokee still shares a lot of components from the Mercedes M-Class back when Daimler owned and screwed Chrysler up.
@stufoo it does share SOME componets of the ML but for the most part its is its own vehicle. all cars and trucks nowadays use some componets of some other vehicles. but all in all yes this vehicle is better the the mercedes, bmw, audi, toyota, ford, gm or anything else
@baberuthistheman America Fuck yeah. Your ignorance of the world around you, the difference between marketing and production reality make you perspective retarded. Which is precisely what they who sell want.
I've owned 3 Jeeps each one better then the previous and each one still on the road toady with their perspecive owners. The good desgine of the XJ series saved my life from a head on collision with a tractor trailer. Jeep has always and will always build a world class vehicle.
Don't belive me, then put an XJ or a Montaro against a JK RUBIE.
@c300pilot I wasn't trying to dispute quality here. I personally think this is awesome. I have an issue with people thinking based on tradition that Detroit brands aren't at least as worldly supply chained as anything deemed an import. Well because that's wishful thinking of a long gone age and ignorance.
@baberuthistheman Your term for "American" is incorrect. The term "American" goes for all of the Americas. It is a term loosely used by many which should be fixed. The United States of America isn't the only America.... Therefore one could get mixed up in which "America" you're referring to.
HELL YA!! here comes chrysler comeback.... 33%gain in sales and 5 straight month over month increases without even making new products.. when the chrokee comes out ITS A KNOCK OUT.
Nice commercial. Nice looking SUV. But, this Grand Cherokee has lost all of its distinctive Jeep lines that once made it a legend. You can't tell this SUV from the countless other generic looking SUV on the road. Chrysler-Fiat should redesign it so that the Grand Cherokee can stands out among the pack. Chrysler-Fiat should follow the example of the Wrangler JK design.
@2Phast4Rocket HOW?? it has a seven slit grille, and amazing off road capabilities. thats what makes a jeep a jeep. it doesnt make it a good car, but it makes it a jeep
@tonyandphil Any literate can read the logo emblased on the front grill and know it's a Jeep. You can do that if it's in silhouette? That's what I mean being distinctive. Follow the 7-slit grill logic, you can put a that on any HyundaiBMWAudiToyota and call it a Jeep. Not in my book. Look at the Hummer grill.
Interesting the imagery for "Colt revolvers" is a pack of horses, and not an actual Colt revolver, while the other images match the dialog ("striaght stitches, clean weld, Jeep 4x4's, etc) ahhhhh gotta keep it pc.
That's an awesome ad. Pride in "American made" and promises of being top notch. The reviews and the test drivers and those visiting the showrooms to see them will render judgement. I have faith Chrysler will NOT disappoint.
This is, simply and without doubt, THE best Jeep commercial I've ever seen. I've actually never particularly liked Jeep, always preferring Dodge (or Ram, these days) products for the off-road beat. But this commercial makes me want a Jeep when I watch it. That's what matters.
@JETZcorp You've obviously never seen the one where theres a girl driving a Wrangler and is bouncing all around...THAT is the best Jeep commercial.. haha. But you are right. This video makes me want to go buy the new Grand Cherokee and go off roading.
@iwishiwasboarding No, I'm just saying that if I were personally going to pick a vehicle to use off-road, it wouldn't be a Jeep. While it surely would be very capable and would do anything I'd need it to and more, the aesthetic side is important to me, and for that reason I'd have to put the Ram Power Wagon as my off-road vehicle of choice for 2010. It just looks ridiculously badass, and I could use it to carry my dirt bikes around, just like my dad does with his '77 Power Wagon. :-)
I have a hard time elaborating the levels on which this fails. Well, all them, obviously. But for starters: Cheap stock imagery? Check. Derivative? Check. Jingoistic? Check. Jarringly dissonant? Check.
That's a good ad. It's kind of 'stirring', if you know what I mean. And that interior!! WOW! stunning. Nice shot pacing, copy, visuals and voiceover. Really well done!

The only thing better than this terrific video is inspecting and driving the actual 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee!
It is truly a spectacular vehicle with unusual refinement and quality not to mention the great ride and fit and finish and features.
It is easily the equal of the best from BMW, M-B, Audi, Range Rover, etc. and at a better price point.
America is still more than capable of building the BEST - if only the government and corporations would stop interfering and let the people WORK!
