There is NO MUSIC, YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH A "TELE",....I can't believe soo many people havn't heard of these two?? I have various guitars, & the "tele" is always the one you can come home to. If people realized, that sooo much STUDIO, music is recorded on the "tele", even if it is not what they use on stage. It has that crisp sound, & can be used for anything from Jazz, to Country, & many, many, Blues players prefer them. Can you tell I like "Tele's"!!
I saw Tab live many years ago at a little Hollywood club in LA called the Sugar Shack and man I've never forgotten that performance. His performance was so raw and in your face, that you couldn't help but sweat and feel that and want more. It was intense and exactly what the blues is all about. He is one of my favorite Blues artists. He plays a mean Tele, which is what I've been threatening to buy for awhile. This year is the year. He's got it, no doubt and is the real thing. Peace.
Tab is so underrated .... He should be playing much bigger clubs and selling out ... " The "Whiskey Store" is one of the best cd's in a very long time.... Jimmy too....
THANKS Incredible, best holidays to you, over there, Martin. I needed a Tab injection, he's been in town here and I can't get out. He's here alot, we are blessed.
If you can't handle this, stay away from hardcore blues! This is the stuff that will eviscerate you. This is where it's really at !! Way it ought to be played.
One of my best buds happens to be Tab's first cousin and we went to see him at the Cabooze in Minneapolis MN. The man was smokin' on the guitar and vocals. I love Thackery too and have some of his music on CD.
Two tremendous talents right there. I first heard Tab on Dan Ackroyd's radio show when "Standin' on the Banks" was out and have been a fan ever since. I'd love to see him play live and wish he'd do a show in Indiana.
how neat it that. I just seen Tab at a blues Festival in Marquette Michigan. He is a true artist. Man can he play . He puts on a GREAT show.Very down to earth guy. It was awesome,, thank you Tab.
I have been watching Thackery since the 70's when he played w/ the great bar band The Nighthawks ( they're still kicking! ) If you can find the album Live At The Psyche Deli ( a bar in Bethesda, MD ) it is some of the most awsome blues rock guitar ever recorded!!
He does about a ten minute solo on the tune "Shake and Finger Pop" which rivals anything Hendrix ever did.....ok, i'm getting a little carried away but you get the picture!
where is J.Thachery's edited solo...??? although i love Tab's playing and i find his approach nice and warm, it is a wonderful complement to Thachery... Thackery is going to go down in history as the unknown guitar god...
Met Tab at the "Rock & Bowl" in New Orleans and bought him a Long Neck Bud before the show. Down to earth coonass, like me, we talked blues and life down the bayou. He popped a string halfway through a song and never missed a lick. Afterwardes, he called it his "five string version". He's come a long way.

Whatever IDIOT decided it was a good idea to edit out the bulk of Jimmy Thackery's guitar solo did everyone a disservice.

Thank you for posting this. I just saw Tab last week in Kentucky, but the police was hot on people recording, so I just took pictures.
This man is unbelieveable. He gives it all he got, to the tune of breaking three strings in two hours, lol.
Gonna see him again in August. Can't wait.

You must be kidding. Give Julian Peterson another 20 years before you embarrass him with talk like that.
