  • isnt god the one who comes to us?

  • This shouting guy has no understanding of modern neuroscience.

  • @lovingboarding I think it's because he studied theology and not biology and neurosciences? Thank you captain obvious

  • @lovingboarding and you have no understanding of his point, hence shouting.

  • Anyone have the link to the full sermon? The village church updated their resources of the sermons. Would greatly appreciate it!

  • @Assassino27 did you find it? I am looking for it too.

  • I hate the sinners prayer!

  • Throwin Down that Gauntlet!!

  • If you have the entire sermon you should upload it and throw up a link to it here.

  • would you just happen to have the audio clip of this sermon? if so i would love to have it, and you can email it to me at wc_garrettjr@yahoo.com

  • I will pray for you.

  • please upload this but take out the music. It's nice but takes away from the point he's making I think.

  • Why did he say "I hate that text" in reference to Matthew 7, @ 2:06 - 2:12

  • @HDell1994 I think he hates it because it is the truth. It is a scary realization, yet it is also a stern, loving truth from God. "small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Pastor Matt knows that "only few find it" is the truth, and this video is his stern way also to tell us to get our hearts right. There are alot of "Christians" that think they will get to heaven from what Matt points out, but the reality is that their hearts aren't right with God.

  • @lmanhkh Ah, I guess I can understand that. So he doesn't really "hate" it because he hates it's truth, but he "hates" it because of how fearful the truth in that text is. Thanks alot for your response.

  • @HDell1994 He hates that we are so casual about it.

  • Oops. I listened to the excerpt again and he seems to hate that so few will find the path to Jesus. How I wish many would come as well!

  • This is so strong. Massive.

  • Skipping church would be a bad idea too., Matt actually talked about that too. We can't do the Christian walk alone. The Bible syas two is better than one. Thinking we can do this alone would be arrogant, which I am not calling you that but it's the idea that I don't need anyone bringnng me down, but we need each other. Just don't have the attitude that church will save you.. Also the Spirit will direct you to a good church. one who does not have false teachings.

  • I'll tell you what helped me build a strong relationship with Christ. I quit going to church, and made it my personal responsibility to understand the bible as well as I could. Once I got away from the could of false dogmas of organized religion the Holy Spirit was more able to minister to me, and help me see the truth. I'll never go back to church again.

  • @gsschoenfeld Dangerous ground my friend, it is all well and good to flee from false teachers and from false doctrines, but I would highlight to you that we are all part of the body of Christ and that we are to love one another, for the bible says that if we love God we will love his church. I encourage you to get amongst fellow believers as much as possible my friend

  • @gsschoenfeld

that's really cool, but don't you think that surrounding yourself with christians, is vital? I mean REAL christians not the type matt speaks of in this video. We are to fellowship together. Maybe God got you out of the church and stirred something in your spirit that it wasn't right and maybe since it was 'organised' it put God in a box, which you've clearly broken out of. But perhaps is isn't finished friend.

Seek another church and fellowship with true men and women of God.

  • @leafclash

Thanks. That definitely sounds great on the surface, however my phone calls and conversations with various pastors of churches indicated that my views and opinions are NOT WELCOME, regardless of whatever scriptural mandates I can present. I'll either have to bite my tongue on matters of accurate doctrine, or find non-traditional/non-institutional avenues of fellowship. I've been warned to stay away, so the respectful thing for me to do is to stay away from churches.

  • @gsschoenfeld "various" churches... not all? God is faithful, brother. Keep plugging away. We'll pray for you. If you're near Houston, let me know.

  • YouTube should be utilized preferably for evangelism or uplifting the men and women of God. These strong excerpts should be left for the shepherds to provide when needed to their sheeps. I say this with love and no means to be disrespectful.

  • AMEN! Keep preaching pastor Chandler!

  • wow. great.

  • BAM. so challenging and convicting. Thankfully God does not WANT me to be damned. that is truly good news indeed.

  • Amen!!!!

  • be not quick to judge another's 'knowability' of God.. it will cause God's hand to fall heavily upon your own understanding. we don't gain any knowledge of God but through the holy spirit.

it is more important to focus on Christ than the misled believers in His church. He knows their hearts-- we don't. He knows where their weaknesses and strengths lie. it is better to be steadfast in prayer for others than to point out the flaws in their walk with God.

  • He said "I hate that text"?

Did he really just say that about a scripture.

  • @d0y0uwantm0re The first time I listened to this I thought the same thing. The more and more I think about it however. I think what he's getting at something different all together and not slamming the Bible. I think he's disgusted that people will use it as an excuse to be nominal or cardinal...both titles and ideologies disgust me as well.

  • @d0y0uwantm0re

I caught that too, but I believe he was still speaking from the voice of another, but in the first person

"it's that narrow is the gate and there are few that find it, I hate that text." Matt's main point here is that someone on the implied broad way would dislike a text that states there to be a spiritual narrow way that few would find.

  • @d0y0uwantm0re I caught that too!

  • @d0y0uwantm0re Don't think that when he states "i hate that text" it means that he doesn't think it is scripture. He is a Bible inerrantist. When I hear him saying, "I hate it" what I am sure he means is that when he comes across it in text either 1) he finds it difficult to follow or 2) he is sick of people around him saying that they believe it and really don't, so it brings up feelings of disgust in him towards religious fools.

  • Nice! Its good with and without sound!

  • Ah, thanks for posting this. Was a good video. Good stuff to think about, thank God for Matt Chandler!

  • Very neat juxtaposition... Chandler is terrific every time I hear him.

  • The Truth hurts, breaks, then liberates and rebuilds.
