If you're trying to park in the garage, back into the neighbor's driveway so you can get up some momentum ... open your garage door and make a run for it. Hmmm, I'm gonna have to say, why do people who live in places where the climate does this regularly in the winter continue to purchase inadequate vehicles and then equip them with inadequate tires? Google says that these retards in Minnesota have banned studded tires. What a losers. Enjoy your winter driving experience till you crash and die. ;-) With studded winter tires I can get up a much more steeper icy hill. Here he can't even drive a few meters up to his garage. And studs in mainstream road tires doesn't damage the road noticeably even if they actually do. And they have good grip not only on ice, even a dry or wet asphalt. Tested in real life at emergency breaking.

The tires are the problem here. Salt or sand would help too. AWD wouldn't have helped anything but getting up the driveway a little quicker.. Even when stopped the car still slid backwards.
