Finally bought the game. Tried to play it at 1 am w/ lights off and I screamed and freaked out so badly that I am going to play it in the evening hours. Scary game. tons of fun, controls are a little weird, but I think its awesome!
I wish developers would make more games like this. Less combat, more creative ways to survive and lots of spooky atmosphere equals a perfect game for me.

I'm considering doing a Let's Play of this game. But I am wondering. Is there anything that's going to jump out, pop out, or otherwise startle you (like a screamer?)
@Tyrhandrer really dont think FF will ever come to PC just not the type. and FF4 aint gona be released in UK or US, dont even wait lol just download the Translation Patch. only way to play it overseas.
dude , let me pass you a hint ;) there is this program called PCSX2 1888, it emulates ps2 games on the pc , it's what it does. but it sucks a lot of the CPU's resources. if you've got an quad core then you're set. i've heard about this game but never could have played it becouse i don't own an ps2. and about 3 days ago i found this program. you can set the controls to keyboard , mosue , usb 360 or ps controller. i've played mk armageddon and now i'm on fatalframe and it works great.good luck
Fatal Frame (and its sequel) are games I consider worth owning an Xbox for. Both titles look better play play better and load faster than their PS2 counterparts. The Xbox versions also feature more bonus content. On the flipside, they are rarer. It's a shame you need to switch consoles for the latter two titles. I eagerly await the finished Project Zero 4 translation project on Wii.

I would also like to recommend trying Fatal Frame 2 since it's a little more scary then the first one. The third one is as scary, but the Second is alot more better to scare you then the first and second.
Well the stories of Fatal Frame all have one thing in common, The Camera Obscura, a Spirit Camera created by a Folklorist or I forgot his real title. but it's more then that. It goes to different places that are called haunted or cursed. As for the First Fatal Frame, there is rumors on some Fan sites that the story of the Mansion is based on some facts.
Okay, for the second game, it takes place with two Twin sisters that go to a Childhood playing site in the forest, there a bad memory happened which will be reveled later on in the game. But the basic of it is that The twin Mayu wanders off and Mio the Youngest has to go find her older twin. Now, if you pay attention in the time line of how this game works. You'll understand a few hidden things.
XD Can't believe I'm writing so much then the character count can hold. ANyway, the village is called the Lost Village and is not on any map and now the twins are trapped in it. The third one is my fave of all, since it will have Miku from the first showing up as one of the characters in the third. As well a family member of the Twins show up as well. They all have one thing in common, the Curse of the Tattoo. If you play the game you'll understand more.

Great way to finish Locke. I've never played this game, but I'll take your word on it's scare factor :) This review was a lot more casual and fluent then the rest, and it was just all around great. Grats on finishing such a big project.
I don't know how many times I wanted to scream... or how many times I did not want to go into the next room.

All three of my Fatal Frame games are used. The first one is on Xbox the original and it's too scratched up to get past a part in the first night. DX
So I have to go looking for the first one on the PS2 all over.
The other two are still good condition, but only if I play it on the PS3.
But still, your lucky as hell.
Also, if you ever want tips on the game. Just ask me and I'll gladly help since I played all three games around two to three times through.

It sucks though Fatal Frame 4 is only in Japanese.
