Technologically you need not register a sim card in order to track its location. The politics of sim card registration is simply and squarely propelled by the lateness of Kenya Telkom to participate in the mobile phone market. Now they are using thorax methods to gain entry, too late. The acquisitive minded phone providers are not criminologists. Since when did they discard their pursuit of profit to mind about the welfare of Kenyans. Gun control, not sim card, would reduce crime rate.
Finally moving into 21st Century...its a deterrence for criminals using the network to organize crime...or planning a fresh wave of violence against other Kenyans!
