I don't think it's fair when people say they should change the name of the band. Jerry Cantrell, in my opinion, deserves more credit in the song writing process than Layne did. He wrote the music, he wrote just much lyrics as Layne..and I think it's unfair that Layne's heroin use should mean that the band can't continue. Don't get me wrong...I love and miss Layne, and my favorite song by Alice in Chains is a song written by him, Nutshell..but I think DuVall is good nonetheless.

As an old school, die hard, AIC fan I must say that Lane can NOT be replaced and will always be missed. Duvall is awesome in his own way.... he and Jerry compliment one another just like the Lane and Jerry did . AIC has changed, but they are back and absolute genius. AIC and S.T.P and Soundgarden should do a tour next summer if soundgarden re-unites. best 3 bands at one show. Pearl Jam would probably tag along : ( but that's ok I'll head to the beer stand during their set so I wont miss anything good.

See, the thing with Hendrix was that the Monkees were nice enough to give The Jimi Hendrix Experience their first U.S. concert appearances. The only problem was that their music went over like a fart in church amongst all those teenage girls. Alice In Chains is a well-established hard rock band opening for a guy who couldn't even get a reaction from 74,000 people in Texas during a wrestling show back in April. Why this crowd isn't reacting to a rock band at a supposed rock concert is baffling.

Fucking awesome! Duvall is awesome in his own right, and the dude is so into the groove. I've loved these guys forever, and I trusted their choiced of a replacement. Jerry knows the harmonies are crucial, especially live. William and the band have chemistry, which is everything!
Musicians, If you pay REALLY CLOSE ATTENTION, you would notice that by looking at the drummer, the song is off by a second. The audio doesnt match with the way they are playing. Its not exact. Seriously. I dont know how the fuck that can be if you catch them live. Alot of videos on here do that. But I dont care, ALICE IN CHAINS IS THE SHIT!! Jerry Cantrell is the reason I even picked up a guitar in the first place. Long live Grunge forever! \m/ \m/
It has to do with the physics of sound and all that great stuff. Wavelengths of sound decrease exponentially, or something similar to that. They have to delay the speakers farther out because the actual sound from the front doesn't reach that distance for around a second. It's very coordinated. It's why there's degrees for music industry; that stuff is way more complex than a lot of people realize.
I'm not sure who you are responding to here..but thanks! people don't realize how hard it is to make bands sound good. the only thing I have to correct is that the speakers further back are delayed (and never for a full second...much less) because the speed of sound (what you hear on stage) is slower than the speed of the electrical signal being fed to the rear speakers. However...wavelengths do become modified based on distance from source as well as refractory interference. :thumbsup:

I cannot wait for the release of the new album! I am thrilled that my favorite band ever has decided to continue to make music! Willy brings formidable guitar skill and blends very well with Jerry both as a player and as a singer. If you don't like it, don't buy the album, but please don't ruin it for the rest of us! Layne was truly iconic, but it pleases me to no end to see this band return to form. Long Live Layne, and Long Live AIC!

Who the fuck are you to say someone sucks??? What have you done that's so great you can judge him??? Is it because he doesn't sounds exactly like Layne? He sounds pretty damn close to me, and why would you want him to sound exactly the same anyway? It was Jerry that did a lot of the vocals back then and he's still there. This is awesome!!! I love what they're doing!!!

I think it is understood you can't replace Layne. However, the rest of the band should be free to do the best they can. I am glad they are putting out music. Cantrell and gang are great musicians.

I cannot wait for the release of the new album! I am thrilled that my favorite band ever has decided to continue to make music! Willy brings formidable guitar skill and blends very well with Jerry both as a player and as a singer. If you don't like it, don't buy the album, but please don't ruin it for the rest of us! Layne was truly iconic, but it pleases me to no end to see this band return to form. Long Live Layne, and Long Live AIC!

Long long time ago, AC/DC lost his front man! in these days, who cares? AC/DC had the best album ever (fucking MJ with thriller beat them)just after BonScott passed away! Its matter of time, this band sound better now!
