You don't know what you are talking about. The .phy file is the collision model. Its a script attached to the .qc that is glitched, allowing it to attach to "$surfaceprop concrete".

No, he was placed in stasis. You can read that in the excellent book "Half-Life 2 - Raising the Bar" and there's probably some in-game references to it as well. I think, at the end of Half-Life 1, you were told that Gordon had been put in stasis until an assignment arises.

So, Gordon's conciousness and physical aging stopped at the conclusion of half-life, and started again directly at the beginning of half-life 2, making him, 27.
