Mortal Kombat Review - The Mortal Kombat 9 Gameplay Review

I love everything about this game except the online.

The online, and this is coming from a hardcore Mortal Kombat fan, SUCKS.

If its not having to wait two entire minutes just trying to join a match and then end up not being able to connect, its the horrible players.

People online do one of TWO things...

1. They create INCREDIBLY lengthy combos which you LITERALLY cannot stop unless you get a breaker.

and

2. They spam cheaper combos which you can't react fast enough to stop.

It just pisses me off because all fun is taken away from the game.

But the offline is so good, I guess it's not the biggest issue out there.

Awesome review for an awesome game! stryker is so bad ass in MK9 and Quan Chi's leg rip/beat fatality is one of the best fatalities I've ever seen

Playing this game is kinda funky playing with a normal fightstick because of the way you have to block and all the other functions, but you can control the button layout to have the controlls to your most likeing but i suggest you guys to get the mk fightstick

@jasanimans Not quite, that was the sorcerer Quan Chi, see he tasked the lin kuei(Subz clan) and the shiri ryu(scorp's clan) to recover a item that would help him free the fallen Elder god Shinnok from the netherrealm, Sub Zero completed the task and the grand master of the Lin Kuei as their reward asked that Quan Chi have Scrops clan eliminated. As Scorps clan was once a part of the Lin Kuei but left and became a separate group and according to Lin Kuei tradition all defectors must be killed.

@jasanimans But originally Bi Han(the orginal Sub-zero who is killed by scorpion and is brought back by Quan Chi as Noob-Sabiot) killed Scorpion but they seemed to have changed that in the new timeline. But yeah Quan Chi is the real villain/puppet master in the MK series alot of the events in the series happen because of him. Shao Kahn's invasion of Earth Realm, the netherrealm invasion/freeing of Shinnok, the ressurection of Onaga's army, the original death of Liu Kang in Deadly alliance, ect

theres actually only 2 unlockable characters (Quan Chi/Cyber Sub Zero). You cant use Goro, Kintaro, Shao Kahn. ive only been able to use goro in the challenge tower. Havent been able to play online becuz ps3s been doing maintenance.

@painkiller309 u kidding rite? this mk is da best but its real hard pulling of a 10 hit combo except the x rays. mk armageddon was easy as hell when u could fight in the air and like evry single hit would send the opponent up flying. but still this mk is the best one yet, the thing is that u have to prectice more with the characters to do kick ass combos
