I make dnb, and don't like raps slow beat, but this is wonderful! Gave me great inspiration! I think the next thing I'm going to challenge myself to do is take a drum sample from Hendrix's-Stand next to your fire, and remake it! May be hard but may be fun too.
thanks for the inspiration brother. I produce house music but i still found this usefull seeing that we all sometimes have days were we cant produce anything good or feel like giving up.
I started out using sony acid pro 5, (for 3 gruoling yrs) then I tried reason one of my favorites now fl studio love it now i'm using MPA(Soon mpc) i'm even starting to use loops. Great video thanks!
man i feel you on this.. even to a point in working in a new daw that you arent used to. i started out in fl studio.. and was stubborn in my ways and wouldnt budge to try anything.. then i got a mac and had to learn something else (reason is one of my faves as well). but yea small things like that can help your workflow.. also going on youtube to peep producers like you can make you think of different ways to approach a project. i appreciate the vid... thanks.
I agree 100%.. the cool thing about using loops is that it can take you in a direction you would have never went. Whenever I can't come up with anything thing I'll throw on a "Drum loop" or "Instrument Loop" and build around that.
Then I'll mute the "loop" and see what I got and see whether it works without the loop. Then if it doesn't work without the loop I"ll try to recreate the loop myself, If that doesn't work I'll just leave the loop in. Somethings don't need to be chopped and replayed.
Hey man i wanna say keep doing what you do 'cause i feel so much positive vibes coming from your videos and so much great information. I'm the kinda of producer that doesn't like loops either but after watching this video i feel much better wanting to use them in some of my future productions.....thanks for the info.
dumb question but i really need to know this. could you if at all possible make a video explaining tempo and BPM. how would you lay drums and synths with different BPM's thank you for the kits as well i use a couple of them when i get a lil more money im trying to but a few more.
