I haven't saw Michigan but I like Michigan. Lansing, Alma, Flint, Kalamozo, Ann Arbor, Detroit and all Michigan are very nice. I can speak english but not well. I want to go to Michigan and learn English in Michigan Univercity in Flint. I will buy single family house and crew cabin truck :) I will go to fish with my dog and truck. This is my dream but I hope ıt will be real... I love you Michigan. Thank you from Turkey.
i live in chicago. every morning my alarm is set for 6:00 am. when the alarm goes off i swear this commercial is always on the radio. and what does it make me want to do?? GO THE FUCK BACK TO SLEEP.
@aj7821 LMAO! Fuck you, "chicago" home of the poor pissed off fucks like yourself! BTW, I heard your southside shithole, I mean "ghetto" that was tore down, is now PRIME real estate!
Why don't you go and show Detroit now? Hahahhahhhaah. Yeah, I'll head over to Michigan right now. You actually do have a better chance surviving in the wilderness like they show rather than making it in Detroit. Big joke of a state.
I hate to admit, I had no idea there was video for this ad campaign ... I hear 2 or 3 of these on the radio every night driving home (getting a little sick of them, haha). I've never been to northern MI but it looks even prettier than NE Ohio (where I live). Lovely!
MI is astonishing from June-October... As for the rest of the year, its horrible. Snows from Nov-April, that is no joke and no exaggeration, it snows here for 6 months out of every year.
mmmmmmmmm i can smell the fall leaves!!! missin it. maybe me and my 5 dogs will go live in the woods somewhere hehe. would need a couple companions though!
Been there, done that and I will always miss my second home State, MICHIGAN!....Toronto was always exciting for a short visit via the 401, but returning home to this beautiful State has always and will remain my favorite of all the 50 States and shall forever hold a special place in my heart! Michigan is in my blood and I miss it very much!! I highly recommend a visit--up north esp., so check it out and you'll see what we mean...Last post guys :-)
This commercial may not have the celeb appearances of Vancouver's "You Gotta Be Here" or the "Visit California" tourism ads, but something about it resonated with me more. I don't know if it's the beautiful music or Buzz Lightyear/Tim "The Toolman" Taylor's reassuring voice, but it makes me think long after it has ended. Between this and the Chrysler ad with John Varvatos maybe I will visit Michigan. Fyi, if anyone's wondering, the music is Rachel Portman's theme to Cider House Rules.
@Astroboy1070 believe it or not, there are some people that dont like michigan. Not sure if they never got out of the city, or maybe just arent nature people. The downsides to michigan are, good jobs are gone, business taxes are high, and well, i dont like the snow, but only if i have to drive in it lol. If i could just chill out in a cabin in the woods for the winter, i would love the snow. Its very peaceful. spring summer and fall are all fabulous though!
Tim Allen has the perfect voice for this I heard they wanted maybe him to replace steve carrell in the office. which they wont but still would be cool
man the spoofs are funny and true as hell but dude c'mon go up north and see how great michigan really is bum cause its a blast michigans got its ups and downs what state dosent
@peachiepeach90 You must have never left your back yard. Sad....get out of the basement now and then, and you will realize that these commercials are indeed how Michigan is.
@peachiepeach90 You must have never left your back yard. Sad....get out of the basement now and then, and you will realize that these commercials are indeed how Michigan is.
I loooooove these radio ads and commercials- it makes me anxious to relocate to the state!!!!!!
Its amazing how I can be tense one second driving home from work, and the second this comercial comes on with the soothing voice and calming visual images, I instantly relax lol.
@deborahjean69: I would like to point out that it's only the area of the inner city (not Downtown) and not the metro area that's bad. A lot of Detroits really nice neighborhoods get bad press unfairly too because of some of the poor ones, when not all of Detroit is bad.
Great Ad Judy , thanks for sharing,I miss the fall and Summer in MI as well, Its the other 8 months that will keep me from ever moving back there,,...... A dream would be a great little cottage either overlooking Grand Traverse Bay or Lake Superior.... maybe in my next life,,,
GOOD IM HAPPY FOR YA'LL...I LIVE IN FLORIDA NOW AND ITS PARADISE! AND ITS NOT MICHIGANIAN! LOL...!!!! MICHIGANDER...DNT EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE. BUT I DO...UR N HELL
@skateeveryday904 good...just keep believing that, and those of us who live in Gods country won't have to deal with you and others who have no clue what life is like outside of your moms basement.
WANT TO GO HOME ..I lived on the St. Clair river ..I miss the sound of the ships passing in the night..I miss the clean crisp Winter air..I miss the Forests and the Great Lakes..I miss hay rides and Cider Mills in the fall..I miss the joy of a Spring day after a long cold Winter
This fall, if you travel to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - you can take in a big deep breath of Rio Tinto's - Kennecott Eagle Sulfide mining operation. Thanks Michigan for the 14 great jobs and future acid mine drainage that's sure to add to the smell of fall....
@shoganaine I live waaaaaay down south i live like 5 miles from the michigan ohio border and we never go on vacations or trips so, i stay at home and watch these videos
these type of things, the simple things, make me proud to say that i live in michigan, and michigan, no matter what, will ALWAYS be the place i call home:)
I love michigan, and her seasons. I've been to Arizona and it was dreadful, Sedona, Az in fact and it was to me very depressing, nothing but old people. It felt like a place you'd go to die, no thanks.
Man I miss living in Michigan. Born and raised there. Moved to Arizona 9 years ago. Really hated the cold and winters. Now im actually missing that too lol. Not missing driving in it though. I do miss being out in the woods, fishing, the trees omg the trees and grass lol. Living in the desert is totally different. The ground is so hard out here you need a pick ax. Michigan is just so much simpler lol. Although the people in Arizona arent as predjudice as back home.

@SchoolofCommProf wtf? you gotta be kidding me? half of these commercials promote cities or towns that are an absolute waste of time or ghost towns. WHO THE HELL WOULD GO TO MONROE AND ENJOY IT!!!!!!! there's like two open shops and a couple of restaurants. These misleading commercials should be sued.
@MrDetwaa You presume "shops" and "restaurants" are the only reasons for tourism. There's a lot of interesting American history that happened in Monroe. Some of us like that sort of stuff.
@SchoolofCommProf I'm sure a lot of interesting American history happened in Monroe. The 20,000 years of history of this country. :) For real history, see Istanbul, Cairo, and such.
@SchoolofCommProf or no campaigns. People don't think of Michigan when they want to go on a honeymoon or a vacation for a month or two. Michigan is more for Michiganders.
