Hmmm...he was a realy nice man...i have cousinship whit him...My name is Mucha Oszkár...from transilvania...but i heared if my greatgrand originate from czeh:P...im prideful...i love the artistic life...i write poem:)...
I know that since i was a lil' kid without knowing HIM...
Now, his one of my 3 classic'painting reference(with Delacroix and Redon), I owe him so much in my perceptions of things, of women, colours and details.
Brenda, this was a beautiful video. My last name is Mucha, and my dad has always told me we were realated to Alphonse. I am having so many problems with finding info about the family history. My sister tried once when she went there, but had no luck. I have so many of his posters hanging on my walls. I also have the 4 seasons on mirror, but I am missing Spring. I've checked ebay with no luck. Again, thank you for the beautiful video.
Thanks, we keep trying. When I saw the painting of his wife, it was like looking at my sister Joanne. Also, he did a Figures Decoratives 1905 sketch of a young girl who I am pretty sure is his daughter. I put my daughter Lisa's picture next to it and was shocked that they looked exactly alike. There is no doubt in my mind that we are realted, I just need to get it on paper.
This is wonderful. <3 You know, for years in my lil' head, I had always crossed the definitions and thought that Art Nouveau was the same as Art Deco, of which I am not much of a fan. Also loving the work of Mucha, but never knowing the name, I feel like I'm discovering so many of my loves are actually tied to Art Nouveau and I had no idea! It's like coming home. Thanks for the video!
I do not know how I could have missed this.Alfons is a distant cousin of mine...no shit!Proud to be Bohemian (in every sense of the word!).Thanks Brenda!! *****
Brenda,I had no idea either.Thank God for the Mormons and the internet, and old family members with too much time on their hands!I just wish the talents flowed down!
Don't think I've ever heard anyone thank God for the Mormons. Lol. I have Irish, Scottish, Welsh, German, Polish, Semitic, annnnd Cherokee. Imma mixed bag. :)~~~~
Thank you for these, Brenda. I appreciate that you promote the arts by making these artists accessible to some who may not otherwise notice. Lovely choices in artists, works and music. Brava. :)
Thank you for this beautiful show. Mucha is my favorite artist, I just love his art. Although I do think you should have put the seasons and stars together.
Mucha applies to the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. His application is turned down with the recommendation: "Find yourself another profession where you'll be more useful".
Yep, that's Vocalise from Rachmaninov, originaly a song for piano and soprano, with several arrangements great choice (maybe unintendet)for it comprises both the slavic nature and the time period of the great artists. Good stuff:)
Thanks and yes it was intended. I always research the time periods and cultural origins of both the painters and the composers. Most of the time I can find music that goes together, rarely do I not.
You have opened my eyes. Mucha was absolutely unknown until you took me by the hand. What a wonderful early Christmas gift I am giving myself by looking at your enchanting videos.
what a hit! your latest two works got a clear hit on me! rembrandt is my favorite and rachmaninov is my star. really glad to get both in the same day. thank you! also i added this alfonce mucha to my favorite artists. sorry for being long. thank you again!

Funny thing is that these are from the 1800's and all of them are so precise and beautiful that they look like digital art.
