  • Discussions below on whether Russian vs. American technology is better neglect the most important factor; crew capability. Regardless of what Russians say about their platforms; few can debate the quality of American aircrew training and the amount of hours given to US pilots vis a vis their Russian and Chinese counterparts. At the end of the debate; whatever static comparison you wish to make re technology; it will be the of America's aircrew training which will rule the day for America!

  • OMG! KOOOOOOL!

  • Well its not a Raptor or SU-37 but pilot....I was in Serbia when NATO used Stelth there...4 of these fighters got hit with wapon from 1966...

  • The closer you are to a sam site the larger your radar signature appears. Because stealth is only useful at a distance, they simply were flying too close to a sam site which turned on and fired at them shooting them down. The sam radar has a circle of effective range you can imagine is miles across. When a stealthy aircraft flys by the sam site its far enough away for it to pass by undetected. Yes, 1966 technology but same difference. If the F-22 flew to close it would have trouble too.

  • i thought that was only conventional stealth designs. isn't that why the raptor is supposed to be so revolutionary -- because it absorbs radar instead of using right angles to deflect it?

  • This RAPTOR is just proof that RUSSIANS are 10 years in front of USA in JET Fighters....Russians made SU-37 some time between 1993 and 1997. It has same monuvers and better then Raptor. Only thing better on Raptor are electronics....

So why does Sukhoi (Russia, India & Brazil) is trying to build one just like the Raptor?

    p.s PAK "T-50", aka Raptorski!

    Russian are the JOKE!

  • @subprime2006 No it does not. It just shows that America decided to put vectoring in the f-22. What does that have to do with being 10 years ahead of us in jet technology. Nothing. America decided to spend more effort in stealth. That's like saying the Pak t-50 is proof that America is over 20 years ahead of Russia in jet technology since that jet just came out. The are just different capabailities of the aircrafts.

  • Yeah, electronics and the fact that it shows up like a marble on a radar. NASA was doing this stuff in the early 90's too, but NASA isn't a defense company trying to whore their jets out for sales like Sukhoi.

  • Very Nice!!

  • So awesome...It's like the pilot is saying "Ehh, lets go this way...wait no, lets go this way, actually...I kind of want to go straight up....then kind of hover, and lets throw in a couple rolls.....Yeah."

  • f-22 the best ever

  • I was there Friday night and Sunday. But only got to see Sunday's demo driven to the covention center. Great preformence by Max Moga. and great job on being able to stay in the air with those east winds.

  • and this is ladies and gentlemennnnnnnn! THEEEEeeeee CRAAAAPTORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! LOL

  • Yes, yes. Raptor, Craptor. Brilliant...

  • Did Max fudge that takeoff a little? I figure the AF isn't so lenient about adding any personal "feel" to the demos.

  • I was here all 3 days, and seeing this demo 3 times was not enough. Sunday (this day) was the best though when he would go through the clouds you could see them just dissipate around the a/c. Awesome sight.

Does anybody know the soundtrack of music they used?

  • Why does the video keep stopping then starting again?

  • good footage at 7:32

  • doesnt max moga have a tv show on the military channel?

  • I forget his name, but he was at the Oceana show on Sunday, watching Max. Rob spoke to him after Major Moga's demo. I dont have video of it... took photos insteed. Steve?

  • Steve did they push the crowd line up a bit? I don't remember the planes having to do the slight turn from the crowd. Great video :) I can't even tell there is wind.

  • The wind might have been the reason.

  • its to reach the crowd limit line

  • The F-22 is the most capable airplane ever built. Superior maneuverability with vectored thrust, a radar cross-section lower than an F-117, internal weapons bays, what's not to love, except the price? It's the most lethal fighter ever created, and even F-15 pilots will admit that.

  • WOW, Fantastic filming and what an amazing machine!! I hope the USAF can bring one to another UK airshow next year (RAF Waddington International air show perhaps) I'd love to see one!!

Would look even better if they could arrange another formation with the red arrows, I've seen footage from their US tour and it looked amazing with them. Or even with a Typhoon or two, maybe then people would shut up about which is better :D lol and see they are both great.

  • The F-22 was supposed to do some flypasts with the Typhoon and the arrows at RIAT, until it got cancelled :(
