Thank you- no dislikes! So I'm not the only one- I feel like I'm the only person in the world who knows and loves this song. "what's your favorite queen song?" See what a fool I've been". "what? I've never heard of that." this song is SO underrated- I love it.
I recorded this song on a tape whilst watching it on TV so the BBC do have it....I was also privileged to have seen them do the same concert in the Free Trade Hall Manchester in the November!!! Queen Rock and always will.

First time I heard this, I couldn't decide whether to pay attention to Freddie's vocals, Brian's guitar or John's bass. They each kick so much ass in this performance. And I must say that this is far superior to the album version, which has me laughing for all the wrong reasons. Too bad we can't SEE the performance though, imagine Freddie onstage while singing this.
And if I listened to this without knowing who Queen was at all, I would've sworn it was a black guy singing this.
the two of most sucesful bands in the world and truly the greatest to ever walk this earth, both wernt just contempt to do just rock they wanted to do everything and totaly dominate this music world and they are the only true band?! that stuck together from the very begining rite to the very end. this song so closely resembles three songs frm their debut album before queen came together, an album what inspired the members in queen
the closest queen came to blues rock!!!!!, the red special is not quite the same as a gibson guitar of jimmy page when playing blues... but its the best sound ever when brian plays his guitar the QUEEN rock style... oh awsme bass playing once again by the one and only John Deacon
I first heard Hammersmith on a 1 hour BBC radio broadcast in 1986 and it was like discovering the fucking Holy Grail of rock . I've moslty shed my naive fanboyism in the years since but for me Queen are in the top 5 greatest bands ever. This still sounds great!
zeppelin to me was a rock band influenced heavily on blues early on as well as electric folk. sheer searing sonic rock, a tad of country blue grass, a tad of raggae (fool in the rain break) would of been interesting to see what the 80s panned out for the zep. now for QUEEN, they had every element of music ever created except rap but come on rap isnt music. QUEEN is the essential rock band of the 20th century can i get a witness
i totally agree and this would definatly silence all those clapton obsessed fans who feel brian is inadaquate in playing the blues they can all go piss off
I don't know why the computer cuts off words in weird ways sometimes.....You know that Should have been, "what I would give to have seeN FREDDIE !!!!"....
And then sometimes your comments never make it on here at all....why is that ???
@freddiemercury4evr This was from the x-mas show from 75 & the show is available in quality bootleg DVD... I have the DVD video but this song is not on there unfortunately!
@davidluque2 BBC Was retarded and decided to leave after the encore, i'm suprised they didnt notice Queen was still playing, but i bet they have footage (Queen Films/Brian May/Roger Taylor/John Deacon, and Mary Austin) and are hogging it!

This is the best version of this song! I've had this version for decades, it's better than the lighthearted studio version.

You may also add "Sleeping On The Sidewalk", a very bluesy track sung by Brian from the "News Of The World" album.

Sleeping on the sidewalk is more like Boogie, (like ZZ Top)
