  • Thank you- no dislikes! So I'm not the only one- I feel like I'm the only person in the world who knows and loves this song. "what's your favorite queen song?" See what a fool I've been". "what? I've never heard of that." this song is SO underrated- I love it.

  • I recorded this song on a tape whilst watching it on TV so the BBC do have it....I was also privileged to have seen them do the same concert in the Free Trade Hall Manchester in the November!!! Queen Rock and always will

  • Magnifico!!

  • I'd give my left nut to have been there and it'd be the best trade off ever...

  • This is the best version of this song! I've had this version for decades, it's better than the lighthearted studio version.

  • First time I heard this, I couldn't decide whether to pay attention to Freddie's vocals, Brian's guitar or John's bass. They each kick so much ass in this performance. And I must say that this is far superior to the album version, which has me laughing for all the wrong reasons. Too bad we can't SEE the performance though, imagine Freddie onstage while singing this.

And if I listened to this without knowing who Queen was at all, I would've sworn it was a black guy singing this.

  • @IAmPlaysWithSquirrel ---- there is a dvd of this performance but its not eay to find

  • @TheFligle I thought the camera crew left the venue by the time they performed this? So how could it be filmed?

  • @IAmPlaysWithSquirrel i could be wrong... but i think there is

  • "You know you shook me, You shook me all night long..."

  • Excellent song Brian May's guitar work in this song is great! Is this from the X-Mas show of 75?

  • MERCI MERCI MERCI

  • the closest queen came to blues rock!!!!!, the red special is not quite the same as a gibson guitar of jimmy page when playing blues... but its the best sound ever when brian plays his guitar the QUEEN rock style... oh awsme bass playing once again by the one and only John Deacon

  • .....a traaeeeen to georrrgeeeah.....

    oh yay, baby

  • This is a classic... ripped from Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee ... but what a classic !!! ...love it!

  • One of the best Queen b-sides ever!!!

  • Why is this concert not available on DVD/CD its great.

    Dutchqueenfan

  • I first heard Hammersmith on a 1 hour BBC radio broadcast in 1986 and it was like discovering the fucking Holy Grail of rock . I've moslty shed my naive fanboyism in the years since but for me Queen are in the top 5 greatest bands ever. This still sounds great!

  • The amazing Freddie Mercury can deliver the goods in ANY musical genre. He is one of the wonders of the world!

  • zeppelin to me was a rock band influenced heavily on blues early on as well as electric folk. sheer searing sonic rock, a tad of country blue grass, a tad of raggae (fool in the rain break) would of been interesting to see what the 80s panned out for the zep. now for QUEEN, they had every element of music ever created except rap but come on rap isnt music. QUEEN is the essential rock band of the 20th century can i get a witness

  • Witness right here!!!!!!

  • AMEN brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this version should be officially released somehow

  • i totally agree and this would definatly silence all those clapton obsessed fans who feel brian is inadaquate in playing the blues they can all go piss off

  • Clapton is THE most overrated guitarist ever. Hands down.

  • AGREED!

  • the one and only blues track from Queen, sure kicks ass!

  • You may also add "Sleeping On The Sidewalk", a very bluesy track sung by Brian from the "News Of The World" album.

  • Sleeping on the sidewalk is more like Boogie, (like ZZ Top)

  • incredible to think that the punks (who i like too actually) were saying at the time, that these guys didn't kick ass ! queen kick ass, no problem

  • I've just heard this song for the first time...best song I heard in a long time

  • I don't know why the computer cuts off words in weird ways sometimes.....You know that Should have been, "what I would give to have seeN FREDDIE !!!!"....

And then sometimes your comments never make it on here at all....why is that ???

Does anybody else have that problem ??

    QUEEN ROCKSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FREDDIE - THE GREATEST of ALL TIME !!!!!

What I would give to have see FREDDIE!!!! !!!---especially at LIVE AID, 1985 and the WEMBLEY CONCERT, 1986!!

    My idea of Heaven !!!

FREDDIE - THE GOD OF ROCK - !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its got a led zepp feel to it certin guitar rifts and that blues feel to it which is led zepp like

  • freddie loved led zeppelin and robert plant.

personally I prefer freddie, but freddie and plant are my reference singers, just like queen and led zeppelin are my reference bands

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! Such a shame it's not on the regular QueenII album :(

  • they added it as a bonus track to the 1991 rerelease

  • wHAT A POWERFUL VOICE !

  • Happy B-Day Freddie wherever you are............

  • AMAZING! I'd give anything to see Freddie's performance of this one...: )

  • id give anything to see any of his performances

  • szymonwoj1,me too!!! LEGEND.

  • @freddiemercury4evr This was from the x-mas show from 75 & the show is available in quality bootleg DVD... I have the DVD video but this song is not on there unfortunately!

  • You know where to find the seven seas of rhye hammersmith? I can't find it

  • You must download the album: "Queen Merry Christmas". :)

  • Sometimes the CD and the DVD are available on ebay.

  • Queen kick Zeppelins arese at the blues as well. Wow

  • why don't exist video of this song in hammersmith?

  • Because is a rare live I guess but I love this live and in the bootleg Merry Christmas there is the first live performance of Seven Seas Of Rhye!

  • @polenta36 and listen to See what a fool I've been. Freddie was great

  • the bbc stoped recording after the rock n roll medly and skiped out seven seas and this song as it was the encore

  • @davidluque2 BBC Was retarded and decided to leave after the encore, i'm suprised they didnt notice Queen was still playing, but i bet they have footage (Queen Films/Brian May/Roger Taylor/John Deacon, and Mary Austin) and are hogging it!

  • @davidluque2 The BBC packed there cameras away before the encore , so no video
