  • I have seen your review and it was informative. It helped me alot. I too have wavy hair. The product was a Godsend. I am 45 and thought m hair was at a loss. My daughter bought me the products and I've been smitten ever since. Your video confirmed it. Thank you.

  • I agree about the salons...it's $55 for a simple wash/condition/style. $80 for a cut/wash/condition/style, and if you go every two weeks it adds up. I currently use Kinky Curling Custard and it works great except for the extreme dryness so I bought the $64 sample pak today and will give it a try.

  • Thank you so much for this post. I'm going natural and this really helped. I am so glad that you are so open.

  • I feel you. I wont buy her stuff because the prices are outrageous.

  • i have similar hair to urs and im convinced

  • I agree I want to try some of there products bc I am transistioning to natural hair care I cannot afford there prices either.

  • I know that you made this video more than a year ago, but I appreciate your honesty. Preach it, preach it, preach it. It was helpful to hear about your experiences.

  • THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! --for keeping it real!

  • girl, i haven't got to the origianl video to read the responses, but i think this video is great and well stated. and very true. i found out about mj by girl at work so while they had to special i broke out the card and order the merigue, pudding, and went back for smaller buttercreams. i can't wait to try them. but the prices are way tooo much, but if it can make my hair do what i want it to do, at least once a year i can order some, LOL. thanks for your honesty. i guess i'll do video review

  • I hear ya and agree about mj products. I have to say I like mj curly meringue. It works wonders for my hair which is highly prone to frizz and shrinkage.

  • I agree, i like MJ too....plus you have to follow directions first then play with them. But i do hate the prices lol!!

  • Anye76 - You should always like your hair when you pay to get it done. Please hold these stylists accountable. They should be glad to adjust your style to your liking.

  • You look great. I only purchase MJ during the bogo sale 11/27 through 12/31. You can't wait buy one get one free. This makes the products affordable.

  • Thank you for your honesty! I've been knowing about MJ prod since '04 or '05 and at that time they only had 3 prods available for hair type 3b-c. So, they've come a long way, and I plan on trying the Quick Curl & Stretching Cream from the line. BTW, I know my hair waves up when I step out of the shower! I believe it will work for my transition. Thanks again!

  • Thanks for the video and have you tried any of the KCC products. I've been going back and fourth about whether oor not to try these products (MissJ). I think I'm going to because your hair looks fabulous. I've got a couple of textures in my hair but the very top of my head is wavy. Also my daughters is very loose. So it won't be a waste. I'm gonna try the sampler. Thanks, ABE

  • kinky curly gives me a jherri curl look...but i to like the natural curl look....i want to see my "natural hair"..

  • What lipstick is that you have on? I have a feeling that it may be MAC---am I right??

Love your vlog and I especially love the eyelashes video.. You are HILARious!!!

  • Hey Skysky! Thanks for watching. And its not MAC believe it or not. I'm wearing Power by Nyx on my lips topped with Tarte lipgloss.

  • I actually, just recently tried miss jessies curly meringue and it works well for my hair type which is 3b/3c. But I do have family members who have 4b type hair and it truly did nothing for their hair. So I do agree that miss jessies products only works on certain hair types.

  • I paid over $230 to a natural hair salon in Atl. Consultation $50, Hair Rules sample kit $47 and some change, Miss Jessie sample kit $45, hair trim and shampoo $90. That was 1/2 my rent and my hair didn't look good. I walked out the salon and put my wig back on. I guess they can charge that because they cater to natural hair when others don't. So you have to pay. I like Miss Jessie, baby butter cream is my fav. I also like Design Essentials products, my hair loves these products. good video

  • It's grown, too!!! Looking nice! Thanks for the info!

  • lookin amazing lady...the hair is tight.

  • Miss Jessie gonna get you..RUNNNNN...LOL

  • Did u cut your hair??

  • Nah, its just extra curly in this vid.

  • You hair is beautiful...very good analogy between products for natural hair and organic foods.

  • Thanks verbally!! And yep, we gotta pay the price for being organic and natural. I guess they feel like we will pay if we are serious about our health.

  • Good information. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace.

  • Glad you got something from this...Take care and thanks for watching.

  • you are soooooooooooooo correct. The demand for natural hair care products make the price on the few notable lines of product rediculous. I love miss jessie's baby butter for my kids, but I'm looking for alternative products with similar ingredients... it really helps retain moisture...

  • Yep, they are getting paid!! And you know what, miss jessie's doesn't really work on my daughter. It's so strange. Her hair is like her fathers. Thanks so much for watching.

  • Your hair looks gorgeous!!!! And I agree with you girl. These products are way too pricy. I too bought the small sample size of miss jessie products. I like curly pudding but I get better curl definition with herbal essence hello hydration. However I do like the hair repair treatment. The comb glides through my hair. But I still can't see me spending all that money it just hurts lol lol.

  • Thank ya! I would like to try the hair repair treatment next. I feel you girl. But, my theory is sometimes you gotta go all out for the things that count. And hair is important. Hmm...Herbal essence? I gotta check that out. Thanks for the tip.

  • Also I think it's a good thing that they approached you and why would you give up free stuff especially when it's a product that works for you. I think that's a great thing and you should continue to speak freely about the product you like. Perhaps it will help them come to terms on the pricing and things like that. Much love and blessings

  • OH, most definitely. I hesitated for a minute when they hit me up but I was like HEY...trust it. Sent my address and I got the products like a week later..wow! The prices are insane though. I hope they watch this one and cut that price down some. That would be nice.

  • Your hair is so beautiful and so curly. I love it. I agree with you also about the natural things and things that are good for you as a consumer we seem to pay tons of money for. You were saying that you have been charged 55 dollars to get your hair done but isn't it just as hard to maintain natural hair as it is permed/weaved and processed hair? Once again best wishes on your journey because even though you have you have been natural for a while it's still a journey.

  • Thanks Amoure!!! For me I found it to be pretty cheap to care for natural hair. But, if I start to make my own products I'm sure that would help. You know, get rid of the middle man. And that $50 is just for the consultation for them to LOOK at your hair. A hot mess..

  • Damn sis, you making me wanna grow my hair back!!! LOL No real talk, I think you're doing a great thing for black women who want more options when going natural like you did!!!

  • Let's see your FRO KEV!!! LOL That would be SO cool...

  • LOL.... I love your videos.......lol@here's my address send me stuff , i know that's right! I'm still transitioning and I love that I can get all these good tips on youtube but you're right I already know I'll have to find what works for me. I started this as let's try something different maybe my hair will be healthier and it's snowballed into some kinda personal growth journey type thing......unbelievable!

  • Thanks Kay Kay! I was shocked at first and didn't respond right away. But yeah, I was like send it right over here. That beautiful snowball effect has happened to a lot of people when transitioning. And its a beautiful thing.

  • Thank you.. for this video.. I don't use miss jessie products..and i am not knocking it off... but i refuse to pay 8 bucks for that little thing..after watching many videos on natural hair on YT..I have told myself that if a product work stick wit it....

I am do than broke too be buy all these kinky curly N carols daughter..stuepssss

Now if i can only apply these methods when buying make up

  • @LRen1013: Buying make up is a whole other issue girl.. There are a lot of products out there. You don't have to use miss jessies or carols daughter. Speaking of carols daughter I want to try those as well.

  • Hey Ms. Carmen..lol

  • LOL....Heyyyy Maria!!!!
