I had issues with the battery on the first HD I got. Because I did not charge before using it. And the battery did not last as long. So I just traded it in for another and did as it said to charge.
The sound quality seems to offer slightly higher sound quality. My younger brother could not hear it, but I could. It depends how good the headphones you are using are. If you are happy with stock iPod or Zune headphones then it won't matter to you. If you are an audiophile you will probably want to go with the Zune.
One the only thing that sucks is that the Zune doesn't currently play youtube videos
