T98 seems too heavy to be in the same category as an H1. It would be great on-road protecting political or high ranking personal with little off road capabilities but the H1 has an unrivaled off road advantage of a power to weight ratio. Just look at all the wars she had the reputation to build up, granted an RPG or roadside IED doesn't do her very well, but when I get in one I know I wont get stuck unless I run it on empty.haha

Not a fair comparison. These vehicles are built specialized to do very different things. It's like comparing apples and pears (pears being more similar than citrus fruit, but still, a different fruit). Compare the T98 to a Knight XV for a better comparison.
Ok so what is this video supposed to be about? All I saw were videos about two trucks driving around... Last I checked when there is something vs. something, one of the two is going to be on top or the winner. Also the T98 has all the GM underpinnings as a 3500HD and interior gauges. The Kombat looks like a Suburban. No clearance, protruding bumpers, skinny wheelbase. The Hummer has planetary hubs that give it more clearance, the wheels are right at the ends of the body, and it's wider than a typical lane. The Hummer is a much more capable offroad vehicle.

I am not impressed. The Hummer is built for practicality--not luxury. Can this SUV be equipped with radar, Surface to Air Missiles, Anti Aircraft artilery, Antitank missiles? Besides that, they are both GM vehicles.

@yonori1 In battlefield, if a hummer would be coming at me at full speed, I would hope to be in a T98 getting away at twice the hummers speed. The hummer would have no chance to catch me :)
@atikot Well, I assumed that the hummer has a weapon advantage in this case, so yes I will be running away to come back at a later day. If I have the weapon advantage in a T98 , then the hummer will have no chance in getting away or even maintaining safe distance.

P.S: on military service we had some chases with the humvee , humvee has a big advantage offroad as it can drive fast on hard terrain. and usually it would suffice to catch who ever running away (besides bikes).
@atikot OK, but have you had the chance to compare the humvee to a T-98, because the T-98 is faster on paper. So based on what it looks like on paper, I would prefer to be in the T-98 regardless if I'm chased or I do the chasing. I will be doing the chasing if I have weapon superiority, and vice-versa . @9ior77 it is a different category vehicle , in the IDF we use the wolf (watch?v=LQR2TYFvaCg) this kind of vehicles has limited offroad capabilities because the vehicle height doesn't has enough compensating width which makes this vehicle pretty sensitive to rolling over, the humvee on the other hand is very wide so it is very hard to roll it over. humvee wasn't made to be APC, about half of the versions of the humvee even has only 4 seats.

I have always liked Hummers but i think the Kombat looks Sleeker and although maybe its not as good for going off-road as a Hummer it can still handle most terrain. But when it comes to Protection the Kombat takes the Cake. There are options that can make a Kombat RPG proof and thats something that even a Hummer cant do based on what i know and anyways Hummer is down the drain now with the current economic situation.

Not a fair comparison. These vehicles are built specialized to do very different things. It's like comparing apples and pears (pears being more similar than citrus fruit, but still, a different fruit). Compare the T98 to a Knight XV for a better comparison.

Ok so what is this video supposed to be about? All I saw were videos about two trucks driving around... Last I checked when there is something vs. something, one of the two is going to be on top or the winner. Also the T98 has all the GM underpinnings as a 3500HD and interior gauges. It just has a face lift of how much more ugly you can make a vehicle.

im sure the t-98 can probably stop more than a hummer can but it lacks the mobility that hummer has due to its weight and ground clearance. and im not a pro on any of these rigs but i know that hummer was owned by gm and to me the t-98s interior looks identical to that of the 01 chevy tahoe so does this mean they're both made by gm? thats a legit question that i would like an answer for

The Kombat looks like a Suburban. No clearance, protruding bumpers, skinny wheelbase. The Hummer has planetary hubs that give it more clearance, the wheels are right at the ends of the body, and it's wider than a typical lane. The Hummer is a much more capable offroad vehicle.

just want to throw it out there for the anti america guys yes the b2 was damaged however the b1b flies way more sorties than the b2 as of right now. it also has gotten combat damage but never enough to decommission one. the f22 and f35 may be replacing the f15 and f16 but both of those jets still seemed plenty powerful to get air superiority in all combat its been put up against.

I am not impressed. The Hummer is built for practicality--not luxury. Can this SUV be equipped with radar, Surface to Air Missiles, Anti Aircraft artilery, Antitank missiles? Besides that, they are both GM vehicles.

P.S: on military service we had some chases with the humvee , humvee has a big advantage offroad as it can drive fast on hard terrain. and usually it would suffice to catch who ever running away (besides bikes).

So based on what it looks like on paper, I would prefer to be in the T-98 regardless if I'm chased or I do the chasing. I will be doing the chasing if I have weapon superiority, and vice-versa . (by weapon I dont mean the vehicle itself )

In any case I think the USA army could do much better than the humvee to protect its soldiers. I like the look of the "Marauder" from south africa. Its looks unstoppable and it survives land mine attacks too, but probably too expensive. I wish they had a civilian version :)

@9ior77 if you are talking about the aspect of protection as far as i know USA army does a good job, i know they put armor the humvees (for iraq) in Israel, the Israeli company that does the armor does it for the IDF also, and the armor USA uses is heavier then the one the IDF uses, so it should be pretty serious :), the T-98 is armored ? from the outside it looks like normal version

@9ior77 it is a different category vehicle , in the IDF we use the wolf (watch?v=LQR2TYFvaCg) this kind of vehicles has limited offroad capabilities because the vehicle height doesn't has enough compensating width which makes this vehicle pretty sensitive to rolling over, the humvee on the other hand is very wide so it is very hard to roll it over. humvee wasn't made to be APC, about half of the versions of the humvee even has only 4 seats.

I have always liked Hummers but i think the Kombat looks Sleeker and although maybe its not as good for going off-road as a Hummer it can still handle most terrain. But when it comes to Protection the Kombat takes the Cake. There are options that can make a Kombat RPG proof and thats something that even a Hummer cant do based on what i know and anyways Hummer is down the drain now with the current economic situation.

yeah try to make the propaganda that this Combat T98 is better than Humvee. Faster doesn't make it better, and just by looking at it i can say that off road capabilities of H1 are way better than t98's

how about a race on same terrane??? then id believe a karkov fueled designe team can build an offroad vehical... not impressed when u show the hummer goin through 2ft plus of snow thne a river in the minst and then u show that pos kombat goin through a puddle... lame as lame can get... i think a geo tracker can impress me more than this
