i actually have a lot of faith, that we will discover more episodes. After all people have been doubtful that anymore will turn up since the 90s but since then we have found Episode 2 of the Daleks Master Plan and even a new clip from the Power of the Daleks as recent as 2005. These things just take time but there are certainly more treats too come :)
In a way I think the BBC has performed a very clever marketing ploy, losing the formative years they have quite conveniently placed the shows with shittest effects and likely poorest continuity (as most of it had yet to be made up) out of our reach ensuring that nearly 50 years on we'll happily spend the same amount on any that remain as we do multi million pound movies.
its a shame so many episodes are missing, i think the BBC should keep on looking until Doctor Who's 50th Birthday then they should consider starting to Animate the missing episodes :)
Oh and my handle refers to my UFO picture and ghost picture hoaxes that I used to do when I was a sad git. I am not Mr. Gregson. I think the handle would sort of give it away!!
The places that haven't been searched yet are Zimbabwe and Iran... they were formerly British-controlled so maybe they could have them, at a long stretch.
But really the absolutely best bet is some more of the other episodes of the Daleks Master Plan, which we know for a fact had copies of all episodes except #7 sent to Australia with no reported return.
#7 is very possibly lost forever because it broke the fourth wall on Christmas day, so no station abroad in the 60s wanted to run it.
Just to clear soemthing up. When I said I have all of the episodes, I mean the ones that are out on dvd. Not all the episodes that were made. I'm not that old! :)
I'm a fan of Patrick Troughton and Frazer Hines and would have loved to have the missing Second Doctor episodes. I have all but two, the Dominators and The Ice Warriors, and would love to have the Highlanders.
:O You have the missing episodes of the Ice Warriors and the Dominators....*faint* NO WAY! please, please, PLEASE donate them to the BBC so we can all enjoy them! w/b please!
actually 108 episodes are missing 45 hartnell and 63 troughton. all exist on audio (thanks to fans recording them at the time) but a real shame for us doctor who fans born like me in the 60's 1967 in my case.

For what it's worth, stagevu has a handful of classic Who episodes from the 60's and 70's.

I wouldn't want "Fury From the Deep" re-animated, it's scary enough already with what's remaining.

The bbc think that the last episode of "The Tenth Planet" could be in Zimbabwe. but unfortunately, with Mugabe in power, they'll never get to look.
As Hartnell's last story, The Tenth Planet is a Gem and I really want to see it released on dvd!

Great video!
I will never forgive the BBC for destroying these classics.
Also the Beeb are'nt prepared to pay for any more reconstructions, like the Invasion.
insaneasylum1234 3 years ago
well they might be doing reconstructions of the tenth plant (episode 4) and the ice warriors (episodes 2 and 3), lets hope so!

I absolutely adore this video. Brilliantly done with rarely seen clips of Hartnell and Troughton mixed with classic Who music. Terrific!
