you cant render out a images sequence like .tiff or .tga and add them to a image player like adobe aftereffects or premier and then render that to a wmv if you wish.
a sequence image sequence is best as it will save one frame at a time and if it crashes you have all animation to that point. then just restart from there, instead of losing all in a video style render output. plus you save alpha channels and the raw quality is aways better -Skyjar
