Originally there was going to be a remake by producer Jim Wynorski with Sybil Danning in the title role, but Wynorski remade "Not of This Earth" instead. He was disappointed when he eventually saw THIS remake with Daryl Hannah.

The original 1958 BW version is the one you should rent.

The 1993 remake was a disaster. Dazzling SPFX didn't help at all. The concious effort to showcase feminist liberation in the 1990s didn't help either.

Considering the cheap SPFX and cheesy dialogue, the 1958 original still stands up if you have some time to relax on a Saturday afternoon.
