  • rick perry for president

  • @firefly4f4 well im sorry u think that way all im saying is this country was built under god and now that we are moving away from this we will never be the same great nation we once were because of people like YOU

  • @skillednightmare stfu about god give me prove and i'll will believe you and don't the the bible because it's a 'book'

  • @firefly4f4 im sorry but i think your facts are wrong, the anti religion rate is up and that causes people to go off the deep end thinking that there is no justice or a higher power to judge them besides the government to stop them. And what the hell is a straw man argument...listen to me i believe in a seperate state and religion too but where are we going to be in 20 years, a brain washed society with no beliefs besides what the government tells us!

  • @skillednightmare You're another one who needs to be reminded to reply to comments instead of posting new ones. Please do so from now on.

"go off the deep end thinking that there is no justice or a higher power to judge"

What is your evidence of such a higher power? The only one I see is future generations looking back and judging what was right and wrong, and current humans doing the same on other current and past humans.

"No beliefs" -- another straw man. Look it up.

  • FECAL SEX About 80% of gays admit to licking and/or inserting their tongues into the anus of partners and thus ingesting medically significant amounts of feces. Those who eat or wallow in it are probably at even greater risk. In the diary study,5 70% of the gays had engaged in this activity--half regularly over 6 months. Result?--the "annual incidence of hepatitis A in...homosexual men was 22 percent, whereas no heterosexual men acquired hepatitis A.

  • Boneheads like yourself that have never served in the military don't have a clue what you are talking about. For starters when you live in a barracks you have to share a single room with 3 people that you can not choose. Do you think I want two gay guys kissing and making out 10 feet away from me. What am I going to say? They keep men and women in separate barracks and they are not allowed to visit for that reason. With gays nothing is going to stop them from having sex when ever they want.

  • @Mlwtca Your personal discomfort with their sexual preference is insufficient reason, for the same reasons some people being uncomfortable with another religion would be an insufficient reason.

Oh, and your "nothing will stop them" comment is one of those laughable strawmen that anyone who is anti-gay think up.

Any further posts you make on this thread will be ignored, and I encourage others to do the same.

  • @firefly4f4 Cowards love to flap their gums behind their computer and then crawl into a hole when it comes to someone calling their bluff. I don't blame you for ignoring my posts. I would just make you like more of a idiot then you already are. Now excuse me while I find someone who has the balls to debate a topic they started instead of censoring, ignoring, and acting like a big pussy.

  • Epic! But seriously what was Rick perry thinking? And wher did he get his information? "End Obamas war on relligion? That is just as contoverse as if the Chinese national anthem was called "stars and stripes"

  • haha I hope he sees this. I really hope he sees this.

  • haha I hope he sees this. I really hope he sees this.

  • My problem with this ad is that he makes it seem like a Christian in order to have some sort of moral, or political, superiority. There is a reason why there is a separation of state and church and I don't need to be attending a top university to know that concept was established for a reason. And what "liberal attacks on religion?" I am a Catholic and I have never felt any form of theological hostility from the American government. Oh well as long as he doesn't win presidency, we are fine!

  • @Rezin7061 Well stated, and thank you for the comment. :)

  • nice painting you got there

  • @sadieaugust Far be it for a President to want to show that even a foreign leader wants to honour the US troops by crediting that leader with the suggestion of location. How absolutely DESPICABLE of him. /sarcasm

Seriously, sometimes I think there are people who will try to find fault with ANYTHING, no matter how ridiculous the accusation is. Granted, I'm sure everyone does it from time to time, that that was taking it to an extreme level.

  • nice lol

  • nice

  • @firefly4f4 its a problem bc kids think they are different and cool and a straight edge and mostly bc they hate there parents or never had any. Its diffrent if you dont preach about it and keep to yourself but kids who have no morals due to it is sad. After all we are one nation under god

  • @skillednightmare "under god" wasn't added to the pledge until the mid 50's.

"no morals" -- you mean, not morals as dictated by your religion. I'm curious how you'd explain how the divorce rate among evangelicals is nearly if not the highest in the nation, whereas among the irreligious it's the lowest. Should I mention the relative percentage of the prison populations relative to religion?

Do you have anything to offer other than straw man arguments?

  • Who else noticed the ladies' asses in the background??

  • athiesm is a problem in schools and in life now

  • @skillednightmare How is not believing any of the god stories a problem? If you reply, please do not using arguments that are based on your religion -- those are by definition circular (working out to "because my religion says so") and will be entirely unconvincing to someone who doesn't follow your religion in the first place.

  • @skillednightmare and christian bigots are a bigger problem because they get into power and fuck our american freedoms up!

  • @firefly4f4

I agree with saying that gays not being able to openly serve in the military is wrong, if they are willing to sacrifice their lives for the country, they should be treated as equally as everyone else. The military has had a past with gays' involvement in the armed forces and I think that perry is trying to re-instate this. The reason is that they are afraid that an openly gay military personnel could create un-ease or discomfort with those he or she serves along side of.

  • @Shwayzebanana

Henceforth, please reply in chain. Keep these together for proper context. It's not hard.

I specifically said he should not be ashamed to be Christian.

The KKK says unpopular things based on their beliefs. Should we be silent and not ridicule them?

Should we segregate or exclude other minorities or women out of the military because they create some unease and discomfort among others? That is why DADT deserved to be repealed, and shouldn't be reinstated.

  • @firefly4f4

The KKK is a lot more honorable than the US military is, now that fags can join openly. It's bullshit.

  • @HallowedBeThyCock Oh, you're subbed to TopTenCrew? I know what to do with you!

  • @HallowedBeThyCock Yes way more honorable because they burned people. People like you need to die in a hole. Just because you are jealous of america does not mean you have to hate. If you hate us get off our website.

  • @firefly4f4

Yea my first comment was me expressing my feelings, good job you can spot an ad hominem.. what i'm saying is that a man should not be so ridiculed for stating his personal beliefs that are not exactly what the culture wants to see and hear. The minute someone says something that not everyone else agrees with, they begin to attack him, its stupid. He is saying he is not afraid to admit his christian beliefs because many people today do feel afraid to admit it even if they shouldnt

  • Straight people beating the shit out of gay people will make America strong again.

  • @TopTenCrew On what basis do you make this claim?

  • @firefly4f4

Well, fags are useless. Less fags, less problems.

  • @TopTenCrew Again, back that up.

  • @firefly4f4

I'll happily back my pickup truck into you if you like

  • @TopTenCrew I'm not gay, and we're done here.

  • @TopTenCrew No, you are sadly mistaken less bigots, uninformed religious nuts and greedy corporations equals fewer problems. And the only people that are useless are those who condemn others they do not know or have ever met.

  • Rick Perry may or may not be a bigot, but actually most everyone in the world is a bigot. We are self-centered by nature and usually think our ideas and opinions are how things should be.

  • @tadpolesoup It is actively promoting people of different beliefs/sexuality/religion/etc not being allowed rights and privileges (gays in the military) or actively forcing others to follow those beliefs that makes one a true bigot, IMO.

  • Obama isnt a christian,

  • @JCcums, your hilarious, satirical caricature of the drooling, cretinous Perry supporters and anti-gay losers was great, but you may have overdone in just a tad. Even they don't like to reveal themselves to be so stupid, so fast. :)

  • firefly4f4 - stop drinking the foolaid moron.

  • might be thinking out on a limb but i dont think "fags" should be in the military "christians", nationalists, blacks, whites, muslims, hindus, or any human being should being the military. in the words of hary patch. . in the war so many ppl lost there live for diplomats to end it by sitting round a table, so why loose the lives in the first place

  • @braunblender On the whole, I'd agree, but I think we're a LONG way from that point.

  • @firefly4f4 your right and im ashamed to say it about humanity. in this day and age i'd hoped we had become more. . hopefully the challenges humanity faces in the next 50 years- century will go some way to bringing us closer together

  • it's true I'm a closeted Christmas fan....but SHHH! I don't wanna come out yet! I might get beaten for wearing my X-mas PRIDE sweater :O

  • @CandyLaStar LOL -- awesome comment :) Thanks for the smile!

  • Side note -- Dude, those pictures on your back wall are awesome :)

  • @firefly4f4

No, I wasnt trying to base my comment on personal attacks, but I dont think people should be so angry at a man for expressing his personal beliefs if they do not agree with the commonly accepted terms of society. Everyone has become too comfortable with politicians saying exactly what they want to hear, and when someone says something that isnt that way they immediately become offended and pissed off..

  • @Shwayzebananas

"No, I wasnt trying to base my comment on personal attacks"

You made no argument at all in your original post.

"I dont think people should be so angry at a man for expressing his personal beliefs if they do not agree with the commonly accepted terms of society"

If they're talking about excluding people from said society, I certainly will, and he's on record as supporting DADT, so don't even think about saying he's not.

  • One of the surest ways to spot a racist or a bigot is to see whether they accuse others of being one. For it is the flaws we deny in ourselves which are reflected as illusory "truth" about others when we judge. The liar thinks others are lying, the thief believes others will steal, and the true bigot will see bigots everywhere. Try not to hoist yourself on your own petard.

  • @WisePatman There is a reason I chose to link the particular videos I did.

If being intolerant of those who themselves are intolerant of those who don't share their beliefs is bigoted, so be it.

  • @firefly4f4 The problem is in the definition of intolerance. When a person claims they are intolerant or a racist, we may take them at their word, only they know their own mind. When WE however, claim someone is intolerant from our own contextual judgement (i.e. we disagree with them) we enter a dangerous place. I have my own prejudices, I admit them, and so they hold less power over me. I am VERY circumspect in pointing out other's intolerance. It may be that I just misunderstand them.

  • I like the asses on your wall.

  • RIGHT ON

  • I love this. You're brilliant, dude.

  • Crappy video overall. 4/10, you get 4 for the paintings.

  • I don't think anyone else could have said it better. Great job!

  • @firefly4f4

its good to know that some middle-aged lazy fat fuck who collects dolls and lives through a youtube account has an issue with a politician running for presidency. Because everyone has had such a negative response to perry's ad, we are probably going to have another wonderful 4 years of bullshit an empty promises, just like the last 4 with Obama.

  • @Shwayzebananas well said

  • @Shwayzebananas Are you just going to use ad-homs, or are you going to address what was actually said?

  • Beautiful. Thank you for reminding me that there are people like you in this world.

  • I'm not saying that i am on his side but people are missing the point of Rick Perry;s video. It was to show America liberal views on religion in this country. It was not to express his hate on gays. Again, his video isn't good, but people are misinterpreting Perry' video

  • @ChlmpNipplz And apparently those views are that it's OK for gays to serve in the military, that kids shouldn't be forced to pray forced to observe a holiday that they don't celebrate while in school. Sounds PERFECTLY acceptable to me.

  • @firefly4f4 Exactly it wasn't a comparison between the two. He was saying. America has come so far as to let gays serve in the military (which is good) so why can't SOME kids in SOME schools not be able to pray THEIR religion. (whatever religion it may be) I don't like Perry though, don't worry.

  • @ChlmpNipplz Did you miss the word FORCED in my reply? Did you miss that kids CAN pray in school, but can't be FORCED to? I suggest you watch RabbiJason's vid (annotated, and recently added to the description as well) and leave this same comment on his video.

  • @firefly4f4 i never said they were forced to pray. I said some kids of their religon cant pray their religon in thier school. learn to READ comments nd dont pull shit out of your ass.

  • @ChlmpNipplz Stop with the add homs, and read my reply Joshua below on that subject. If they're told they CAN'T (in a non-disruptive way -- ie, if talking aloud is inappropriate, so is praying aloud) it's wrong. I am personally not aware of any such confirmed case.

  • @ChlmpNipplz I'd also argue that that is NOT what he's saying. If all he wanted to do was say that kids shouldn't be stopped from praying in school, there was absolutely no need to bring up gays in the military at all.

  • If you want to find a video that portrays a different perspective of Christianity, please search for 'Rick Perry Stronger' in youtube and click on "Stronger: A Response to Rick Perry's "Strong" Ad."

  • Well said!

  • someone likes bums xD

  • Everyone seems to be attacking Perry...the problem is career politicians. Serve more then 2 terms in any one position and it kills the system set up originally by the fore fathers. Politics and politicians are innately corrupt. We should be focusing on ALL of the politicians in office (all offices) and one. All politicians are total nutjobs...some hide it better

  • I love how Rick Perry says "I'm not ashamed to be a Christian" Even though America is 80% Christian.

  • To comment on original Strong ad: I don't get it. An ad with anti-gay rhetoric but the dumbass washed-up bigot is using music from American gay composer Aaron Copeland and is wearing Brokeback Mountain clothing. For someone who is so anti-gay he seems to have no problem using gay talent to promote his hate. Could it be possible that he is that stupid (or his staff) not to realize Aaron Copeland was gay? Unbelievable!

  • Rick Perry: I'm a bigot and a moron ('oops', there goes my chance at winning this thing)!

  • Thank goodness the US is finding this out now... better now than later when he could possibly be in a position to do damage. He did the US a favour by spewing this crap now instead of later. Way to go Rick! (Moron!)

  • Woah I have that same Pink Floyd poster on my wall, rad.

  • what is that poster of behind you ?

  • Cant see the difference between this and the "Spam" that TAA put up...

  • Texas has a lot of explaining to do - on how first they spawned Bush, and now this idiot- the electorate supported both of these clowns. What does Texas really stand for? Bigotry? If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, walks like a duck---then it's a pretty good bet it's a duck......

  • @MarkinArabia To be fair, AronRa's a Texan

  • @MarkinArabia on behalf of Texas, I'm very sorry for the shitty politicians coming out of here. Bush and Perry make me ashamed to be a Texan.

  • Thank you for your video. It is easy to blame Christians and Republicans for this problem called Rick Perry, but you sir separated Rick Perry from those groups. Thank you again. Great video.

  • @steveoooooo09 Thank you for the compliment :)

  • Great video!

  • I like your intro... a lot.

  • @Ronaldo0710 Darkmatter is awesome :) I won that for having the highest donation during his segment of a recent blogtv charity event.

  • @firefly4f4 ---- All these retarded Christians can never answer me a simple question ---- how can God worry about gays when he's giving so many kids cancer ??

  • @Hunkola How can you worry about religion, with your head so far up your ass??

  • is that Optimus Prime up on the shelf behind you?

  • @slickman911 Galaxy Force Convoy, but close enough :). My 4th vid shows most of my G1 collection (from a year ago -- it's slightly larger now).

  • what camera do you use? the quality is really good, nice video btw

  • @orionpk This was with a logitech webcam pro 9000.

  • BTW, I honestly have no idea what happened to pepo's comment -- I did not remove it. I removed my original reply to it due to a really bad typo (posting without reading), but not his comment.

  • @pepo91088 $27 billion dollar deficit at the beginning of the year is NOT atrocious?

  • @pepo91088 you want proof of how fucked up the state of texas really is? rick perry has been in the governors office for 11 years, THAT is your proof.

  • @RascalCoyote "Texas isn't in an "atrocious state"," then WHY has rick perry been in governors office for 11 years?

  • At my school they have this thing called FCA, it stands for Fellowship Christian Athletes. That's the only thing religion wise allowed in our school. Nothing else! I think that's wrong. Can't have anything for any other religion. It's pretty sad.

  • that pink floyd poster is the most gnarly thing ever

  • Y u no look at the camera?!

  • @MRFUNNY777 It's just a bad habit -- I tend to look at the recording progress when I use my webcam to record a vid. Usually this is close enough to the camera that it's not as noticeable. I was also looking at Perry's vid on my other monitor for a portion of this.

  • Haha I love this!

  • Rick Perry's picture should be in the dictionary under "turd"

  • Amen, brother!

Also, your non-verbals crack me up.

    Good stuff.

  • loved your comments, thanks!

  • Nice Pink Floyd poster.

  • @soFallenfilms holy crap its you :O

  • @Mastamuzac1993 Accidentally removed this comment instead of replying. Apologies for that. Reposting from my inbox: "People helping people is people putting faith in other people...therefore faith is what America strong. Read the dollar bill or the quarter."

Faith is believe without evidence. If they help, there's evidence that they help. If they don't. There's no faith involved in that.

  • @firefly4f4 What if the people being helped didn't initially know whether or not their neighbors were going to steal their crop when they came over or help them finish putting it in the cellar? That is having faith. Friends are friends, but then faith must be put, hope must exist, that working together will fix the problem.

Have you any personal experiences with faith?

  • @Mastamuzac1993 Trust as in faith was NOT the faith he was talking about, nor is it the faith I'm talking about.

  • @firefly4f4 In other words:

    faith/fāTH/

    Noun:

1 Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.

2 Strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

#1 I use, and is useful, and is "people helping people". #2 is not what made the US strong.

  • @firefly4f4 thank you for proving my point.

  • @Mastamuzac1993

I fail to see how that proves your point.

Religious faith (#2) had nothing to do with making America strong. Freedom of religious faith had a hand in that, at most. Rabbijason's vid (linked, annotated) does an even better job of explaining what made America strong than mine.

Perry can be Christian -- as I said, that's just fine -- he just can't and shouldn't force his particular faith on the entire nation.

  • Nice paintings in the background.....maybe a Christian would have a picture of Christ instead of naked women in the background.

  • @Mastamuzac1993 So what? Christians shouldnt be attending Figure Drawing classes and enjoying art?

  • @zkrunner117 No, they can, and they should. But I'm not sure if repeated paintings of partially naked women is the best background for this video. I'm really not trying to tread on Human figure art, but it just didn't encourage me that he was a man of faith, which would change my perception of his responses. That is all. The human form is a lovely creation and should be appreciated. I've also heard this makes it difficult to accurately draw, so kudos if you can.

  • Firefly, I'm new here. Sorry about the dumb question, but are you an Atheist?

  • @SupahJeezus

What does him being a Atheist or not have anything at all with his true comments about Perry? Nothing! He didn't bash Christians in anyway.. Just reinforced what we he acted like he didn't know!..

  • @ryandaltex You're correct! Stop making assumptions, though. I'm not hating. Notice how I said I was new to this channel? I simply wanted to know if he was Atheist, it has nothing to do with the video.

  • @ryandaltex All he did was ask. I think you're reading too much into it.

@SupahJeezus Yes I am. Missed this comment earlier. I've tried to clarify on my channel page. I have nothing in general against people holding religious beliefs, though. It's when people try to force those beliefs on others, particularly through politics, or when people not holding to or holding different beliefs are marginalized that I have issues.

  • Ok,no offense firefly4f4,but when you say @ 1:46 that "theres nothing that prevents kids from praying in school"I will have you know that a very good friend of mine got iss(in school suspension)for 3 days just for talking too another student about God.The other student was not complaining about it,they were not interupting class,it was just the teacher had been told that "religion" wasnt allowed in the schools.

  • @joshua23671234 Then, assuming that description is correct, I would say that teacher was in the wrong. The line would only be crossed if the student doing the talking continued to do so after the 2nd student said to leave them alone.

  • @joshua23671234

that's actually really awful. My school happens to have christian, jewish, and islamic faith clubs. The actual regulation is supposed to be that actual classes cannot be involved in faith, not that kids can't pray. I'm very much for separation of church and state, but to hear this absolutely shocks me. Wow, what school is this? Or if you don't want to say that, just what city/state is it? Your friend should contest the administration's decision.

  • @VeradoonKing And I would agree, although I would need to hear all 3 sides of this before making a final decision (hence my "assuming the description is correct") above.

Of course, that does only apply if it's a public school.

  • @firefly4f4

oh yeah. you're right - i did make that assumption. if it's a private school, then there's not much they can do, depending on the rules. Still, might be worth taking it to the higher ups in the school since the sentence seems absurd, if it's true.

  • @joshua23671234 there is a big diffrence between practicing your religion , and forcing your views on others.

  • @joshua23671234 prayer is actually permitted as long as it is not the teacher leading the prayer group and the school is not endorsing it so that a preference for one faith or another is not misconstrued. I'll bet that a student distracting other students by attempting to witness to another student and then perhaps firing off a misguided line about religious freedom (which seems to go down the tubes when Non-Christians are involved) was the real reason for the suspension.

  • @joshua23671234 Your friend should contact the ACLU. They have defended kids and all other American's right to practice religion, including talking about god (Search for ACLU defense of religious practice and expression) Just because a teacher or school administrators act idiotically and illegally don't assume that they are supported by the law. What is NOT allowed is a teacher or any other school official requiring or encouraging religious practices.

  • @joshua23671234 Your very good friend's family should sue. I'm fairly certain that's illegal.

  • @joshua23671234 dont blame the government for what ONE TEACHER told your friend. what one person thinks does NOT reflect an entire system.

  • @meltedpoo0987 I would think that if it resulted in a suspension that it's more than just one teacher -- move it up to one school and I'd agree. Since it resulted in a suspension, though, I'm sceptical that it was only a mutually accepted discussion since I only have a 3rd hand account of the details. If it WAS, I'd agree it's wrong, but I need more details.

  • I just wrote an essay about how stupid the whole "War on Christmas" is. Rick Perry is just a moron.

  • "when our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school." I think he means that as a complete thought.

Schools have Christmas breaks. There is not a one that does not.

Thumbs up Firefly414 on the video, and on the nickname. --- from another firefly/serenity fan.

  • I am not a christian, but I celebrate Christmas. And if someone comes up to me and says 'Happy Hanukkah" I'm not going to spit in their face, I will politely say it back, regardless of the fact that i don't celebrate it. I am not offended by it whatsoever. I understand why people more widely accept saying Happy Holiday's, but I don't believe bringing religion into schools and into our political system will do any good. This is 2011.

  • A couple of years ago, I was checking out a book from the library. A woman and her 5 year old son were checking out items and the little boy told the librarian, "Merry Christmas". The librarian immediately told him, "It's happy holidays". I noticed the war on Christmas in 1992 when everywhere I looked it said "Happy Hannukah" and "Happy Holidays". Nowhere did I see "Merry Christmas". And maybe this guy here can explain why they're calling Christmas tree, "holidays trees"

  • @clevelandphil You're looking for trouble where none exists. An hour ago Christmas Carolers were at my door. No one in the neighborhood called 911 offensive as it may have been to me as a Jew. They're calling them "Holiday Trees" Einstein so we are an all-inclusive society. Calling them Christmas Trees implies everyone's a Christer. We're not. And our good Constitution supports that.

  • @Shubael1809 Yeah, keep the denying.

  • @clevelandphil I don't have a problem with "Merry Christmas", nor do I have a problem with the more inclusive (seeing as how I'm in an area with a high Jewish & Muslim population too) "Happy Holidays". They are holidays, so I don't see why people are so offended by that. Now, telling someone to SAY "Holidays" is flat out wrong, IMO, but as @Shubael1809 says, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Oh, and the White House calls it a Christmas Tree -- check snopes for that.

  • As a Christian, I saw Perry's video and was stunned. What "war on religion" is Obama supposedly propagating? I don't get Rick Perry.

  • @TheArtOfTheComment The thing is ArtofComment that if the sitting President isn't one of these "born agains" these days he has no religion in their eyes. The inmates are in charge of the the Asylum that is The Republican Party.

  • Nice

  • Rick Perry is an idiot, but Obama is bad as well. Gary Johnson for president in 2012.

  • @jbevan70 Obama bringing us out of this recession and you call him "bad". What did you expect two months in office and the fuck ups of eight years prior would magically go away? GET A GRIP!

  • I'm racking my brain trying to whittle down my reaction to the original video. I hope to come up with the finished product soon, while this atrocity is still relevant.

  • Awesome video

  • Is this the cream of what the republicans are putting up against Obama? Please tell me this is a joke.

  • well said... Too bad not everyone thinks with reason like you do

  • Nice paintings :)

  • Great. How did you keep from raising your voice. Everytime i see that video i want to scream and throw things.....

  • @dibrebj It took about 4 takes before I was happy with this. It's unscripted, but I misspoke a few times and it didn't look right including jump cuts. I think by the time I did this one lost of the rage was down to a low simmer.

  • @firefly4f4 lost = most

  • @firefly4f4 Well, its probably a good think you didn't scream or throw things. It has much more impact that way. BRAVO

  • "People helping people made America strong". Sounds like a dream... However, I could not agree more to the rest of this video. Thank you for this public (mental) health announcement.

  • lolz

  • I like your choice in paintings/pictures.

  • @k911238 I get that a lot :)

  • @firefly4f4

I am ashamed to call him from my state...

  • @amingram57 So are many, many other people. I think AronRa's "Prick Error" vids do a good job of covering that.

  • @firefly4f4 I love your polotics, and your musical choice

  • lol did you notice how he didn't mention the economy?

  • @Texemosis Of course not, then he'd have to
