  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE VIDEO EVER ITS SO FUNNY!!!

  • @BATHEPAIN why is this funny?

  • wait wait... our bodies evolved yet fruit is engineered?

    hmmmmmmmmm....

I got this crazy idea that maybe WE were engineered and fruit was also engineered for us.... just a thought ;)

    great vid

  • You know, in our blessed culture, it's not just about profitability that these companies have used such methods. Have enough food in times of distress usually means prioritizing quantity over nutritional value. Today, we have the luxury of concerning ourselves with nutritional value, but we came from a great depression not too long ago that really served to change the mindset of people.

That may be a definitive reason behind why we are so focused on quantity as a culture as it regards food.

  • It wasn't "engineered" by nature. If God exists, God "engineered" it when He created nature. If you're talking about evolution, then what you mean to say is that our bodies developed, over time to use best the nutrients that were currently present in nature. In such a case, no "engineering" was involved, just dumb luck chance.

  • It's hard to afford fruits and veg, and I hear that the soil is so depleted of the nutrients it used to have, we have to have vitamins. I hope I can find the ones you're talking about.

  • In short have all vitamins and minerals in proper ratios. Increase one and also increase the others.

  • The best vitamin sups are whole food which means they have all the cofactors and other unknown nutrients as yet not identified by man. Those sups will have a whole food source listed beside the nutrient on the label. Otherwise isolated nutrients can deplete your body The Rogue Dietitian

  • i just cant believe that artificial vitamins are worse than natural... I mean what's the difference if you take straight synthetic vitamin A and straight vitamin A refined from a carrot root?? It's the same fuckin thing!!!!!

  • our vitamins have just been NSF certified as well. most brands arent. Thats pretty much like the FDA for vitamins.

message me on my channel and i can lower the prices a little for you as well.

    thanks!

  • buy the best natural vitamins from me.

    w w w . am way . com / stanwojdat

(just erase the spaces in between n post the link in the address bar)

were one of the only companies that sell natural multivitamins.

i recommend double x, but a simple multivitamin will do the job.

ive taken double x for months. now i tried opti men......and it sucks. gives me a headache. theres a big excess of some vitamins and its not natural.

  • I have a Question I have been trying to find an answer for, how does Alcohol effect vitamins? I know it will make Cyanocobalamin "B12" not work.... I just would like to know if it is not safe to do.... Thanks....

  • sport nutrition is Good ??? ANIMAL PACK etc ?

  • But You freek - todays orange banana meat etc. are sprayed ... Juice is not Juice - everywhere ar E .... :P

  • Whole Food supplements only work in conjunction with a healthy whole food diet. Get that right people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vitamins also require the presence of these minerals to function correctly in the body, so unless it contains all these nutrients, any vitamin supplement we take will be useless. Look for a multivitamin supplement that includes minerals, trace minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, and herb extracts to provide your body with all the tools it needs to maintain good health.

  • You should always get your vitamins and minerals in their natural state, not isolated (like 99% of all products). One really good brand for this is HealthForce Nutritionals. It's more like food than supplements if you know what I mean. Order at iHerb.com and get $5 off your order with this checkout code TEG967. I've been using Vitamineral Green and Earth and the health benefits are amazing, it's like eating a huge amount of veggies every day, check it out.

  • I have really been enjoying thee videos! I have studied nutrition for almost 20 years, and keep waiting for him to say something off base, but so far, he's been right on target.

  • What about a brand called "Alive" supplements, has anyone ever taken these?

  • can you make a video explaining how vitamin deficiency's can be caused by taking supplements. don try to simplify it theres enough of that on youtube!

  • I really enjoy Mineral life's supply of colloidal mineral products. Has anyone tried them?

  • If I crush a multivitamin pill in my joint, will it make my weed healthier?

  • @KelferMookie yes

  • I always knew vitamins were supplements to my diet, but damn, my vitamins are nearly all comprised of synthetic materials!

  • check out the book, The New Nutrition; by Dr. Michael Colgan... probably change your way of thinking about the 'healthy food' we supposedly get, forever. There is overwhelming documentation that states nutritional supplements are necessary, including in JAMA- Journal of American Medical Association. It's pretty much impossible to get all of the necessary antioxidants and minerals from our diet. Thanks for sharing your info and encouraging healthy eating.

  • i hate to say it but ,have you heard about dr wallach, and plant derived minerals on you tube? if not check it out!!

  • I have a question? Should I eat vitamins if I have a healthy diet?

  • Joseph, what do you think about Protandim?

  • Society's health is so sickly today, because these big food corps, over process food, stripping it of the vital nutrients humans need to live, and replacing or just adding substances to the food, that in the long run do harm to the body! For example, much of our food already has the amount of sugar it's supposed to have, but "they" feel the need to add more sweeteners that are artificial, that the body doesn't recognize, thus bringing on diseases, one being diabetes.

  • Arturo Montenora claims the Key to Life is Moderation, This is amazing and very informative, people need to open there eyes and understand.what there putting in there bodies.(AP).

  • i expected more scientific explanations than your body sees it as food and is a complete package. i.e if you were n orange eating an orange then it would make no sense to extract anything from it but surly are body aren't going to use all the nutrients in the orange. therefor extraction makes more sense. but im not a nutritionist its just my thought's!

  • intresting and plain :) thank u !

    back to nature

my small contribution, mind plant omega 3 in opposed to fish oil, given recent studies and documentry broadcasted on 3/2010

  • very intresting, thank you (Y)

  • Most vitamins unfortuntately do more harm than good. Why? They are often incorrectly bonded, in a way that our body is not meant to take in. Copper for example is meant to be bonded to an amino acid, that is how it occurs naturally in food.

A lot of mineral supplements are also OXIDIZED or quickly oxidize upon absorption. Your body can NOT absorb oxidized minerals. What then happens is that your body thinks it has plenty of copper but it cant USE any of it since it is oxidized.

  • This guys is INCORRECT in some of his information. You will get better information from researches.. A good source is the comparative guide to nutritional supplements (by Lyle McWilliams) or consumerlabs (which is a .com)

  • Interesting video, so when you just take in asorbic acid does the body use excess enzymes to break down the asorbic acid?

I also began eating organic food mainly raw vegetables and fruits. Will this help my absorbtion of supplements as well? Since my adrenal glands are functioning better and I am back on my bike what do you think?

    Appreciate it.

  • This guy is an idiot.

  • Research Monsantos GMO.

  • haha, i laughed when you said...and the next step up is actually..FOOD :) This is helpful because i am just starting with vitamins and its good to know the truth!

  • hi bro am 15 and trying to get my daily vitamins and i take gummy vitamins does that help as much as the whole food vits? and can you get a whole food vit at your local walmart and so on?

  • Is it bad to drink muscle milk or whey protein shakes?

  • @screemingbeauty - depends on the kind and quality .. whey protein is good for the heart, see mercola dot coms articles.. he;s the oracle on alternative healthcare..!

  • Excellent video!...thanks for the information, I have never heard anyone explain the differences between all the vitamin types out there. Is there one particular multi vitamin from a manufacturer that you would recommend? and also I was considering taking vitamin d...does the same thing apply for vitamin d3 pills as being synthetic and is there a whole food vitamin d pill?

  • @tario26 - Neways is the best quality and synergy ive come across. check out their website and see what u think...

  • what about the fact that todays food has very little nutritional value due to depleted soils and polluted water and rain sources, most of the fruits and vegetables are also highly toxic having been sprayed with a whole range of toxic chemicals.. i hear no mention of organic...

What about scientifically devised vitamins that contain the whole range of full compounds that are identical to the plant/herb itself...?

  • @SovereignBeing the planet isn't that bad yet,,,

  • @GaryK425 - Do u want a bet..? How do u know what elements are left in the food.. do u speak to farmers are they replacing the nutrients.. it is esp bad in the U.S where the majority of food is GMO..

here in australia there is virtually no selenium in the soil..

most people are iodine deficient and as a result have thyroid complications..

if u think things arent bad then think again..!

  • Like I said,the planet isn't that bad...yet!

  • @SovereignBeing the probelm with vitamin pills is that they dont have all the cofactors need to abosrb the vitamins/minerals. natural food wil lalways have the right combination of vitamins together. you usually only absorb 10% of a vitmain pill & the rest gets peed out

i barely take any supplements & im not deficient in any nutrients (except the fat soluble ones b/c i have a problem with fat digestion)

  • @BellaaMarlene - well my vitamins are highly bioavailable, collodial plant based minerals and vitamins which have higher absorptions rate..

yes i agree most are not very easily absorbed.. and foods are quite deficient due to soil depletion, pesticides and heavy metals..

how do u know you are 'not deficient in any nutrients' !? If u know of an accurate test for that id be very interested..!

  • @SovereignBeing i was tested for certain amounts in my blood. most conditions/levels were normal except my vitamin d which a pill would not fix b/c it absorbs in fat. i took a water soluble liquid form of it & my bone pain stopped. i dont like taking pills in general. i enjoy eating food & i eat alot of the good stuff anyway. a lot more than the average teen i think

  • @BellaaMarlene - well thats good,i hope its all 100% organic too..! i wouldnt trust those conventional tests 100% either... but as a teenager with less toxins and medical damage than most, perhaps your levels are normal.! which is pretty rare u know, most people have inherited deficiencies and imbalances right from birth..

if ur def in vit d remember to get 20mins per day full sunlight when possible..

  • He's right. There is absolutely no study ever showing scurvy could be cured with ascorbic acid although many studies have been done. Yet a small amount of citrus fruit or red peppers easily cures scurvy.

  • Vegetables and supplements doesn't seem to work for me. I guess I do fine on less than half the recommended value despite being twice the size of the weight they are calculated for.

Anyway, lots of herbs and spices have high content of f ex vitamins and minerals compared to fruits and vegetables. Presumably in part since they have not been refined at all for rapid growth/high calorie/sugar content and the stuff that makes it spicy is expensive for the plant to create.

  • rite on

  • make sure any mineral supplement you take contains vegetable derived minerals.

    Much higher absorption.

  • wtf is with this bird at the end??

    you sickc cocksucker..

  • @kostya92 your cool

  • I can attest to this theory. I have tried many mutli's and they never worked. It makes sense that the human body wasn't meant to take and digest synthetic vitamins/minerals. I have yet to try a 100% whole food based multi though and probably will.

  • psychetruth, great video.i want to know if cod liver oil or omega 3 are carcinogens?

  • thank you...very helpful

  • I agree with the problems with synthetic vitamins. Now eating the food in this county is not the same as eating food from other countries they don't have all the chemicals that we throw in our soil and we don't rotate our crops enough.Eat some fruits and vegetables from say South America or some other countries that are more natural in growing their crops and you will see a huge difference in taste and nutrition.

  • Are Spring Valley vitamins natural or synthetic? I have some of them.

  • 1 cup of cooked rhubarb has twice the amount of calcium as milk.

  • I've taken vitamins since I was little and I always felt crappy, I've recently stopped taking vitamin suppliments and I've never felt physically better.

  • @SleepingGiantsSister Do tell which brands you took so we would know to avoid them :)

  • Good Info.

I suggest "The Beautiful Truth" Documentry

  • my daughter has cystic fibrosis and the doctors have her on synthetic vitamin supplements. well not anymore if i have anything to say about it. bumbling idiot doctors and nurses.

  • if u want access to the best supplements on the market and non toxic household and personal care products, then see Neways they have been around for 20yrs, millions of members, operating via word of mouth only and helping people live healthy, glowing lives.. if u want more info and to sign up message me..

Supplements are essential.. esp with swine flu out there..!

  • bullshit!

  • @SovereignBeing hey i just checked out Neways website and Im fairly intrigued about their policies on health. Overall whats your opinion on their products? does it beat the standard high street Vitamins?

  • doctors r train in writing prescrition and they get a really good bonus everything they write u 1 lol so hv fun paying ur legal drug dealer that evry1 waz taght to trust, doctors arn't as smart as we think specialist r tho

  • Fun fact: oranges are not as rich in Vit C as we think. That is the lobbying of the Orange Industry. Strawberries, papaya, spinach, broccoli, many berries- such as mulberries, and red potatoes have more Vit C.

  • Thing to keep in mind, all bodies are different, maybe some people's bodies do better with the synthetic stuff than others, person a) absorbs 20% while person b) absorbs 80%, just a thought that came to mind.

  • Where did you obtain this study from. There is little reason why we need synthetic supplements when nature is full of nutrition. The supplement industry goes way back and has brainwashed the media to thinking we can simply strip nutrients from certain foods to make them taste better, then adding synthetic vitamins to make up for it. There are hundreds of stories.

  • You keep repeating yourself about natural being better and synthetics being worse, but never explain WHY. The one way you address it is to say that when taking vitamin supplements the body has to pull from the body's resources to make it complete. Does this mean that taking vitamins will make you vitamin deficient vs. taking no vitamins? That makes no sense.

  • i was woundering if you have tried to research the vitamins by usans. They are all natural and 96% pure. They worked for me when i had a stroke. The doc. said i would be in the wheel chair for the rest of my life. I am symptom and pain free thanks to finding out USANA. Could you give me your insite.

  • Great video, thanks!!

  • how about flinstones vitamins, are they bad?

  • NO, BUT THEY ARE VERY SILLY

  • I take vitamin C when i'm sick and i get better really fast! (not because i'm a hypercondriac too!)

  • that was a really good video- I was just wondering whether vitamin supplements are a good idea and I had no idea they can add extra stress to your body.

  • for me the synthetic makes my stomach sick, so I take natural.

  • GOOD 4 U KOKSUKR

  • Since you're educating, please stress the importance of exercise along with nutrition/supplements. Nutrition is only one piece of the puzzle.

    Well done. Cheers!

  • @bostonale1 Popping a pill is easier than exercising. Exercise requires discipline and getting up off your lazy ass. Ain't gonna work.

  • I'm a food science Masters graduate and I am glad to see this video here. Thanks for posting and I hope this video is watched by many people who will learn the facts about vitamins.

  • well done video. its easy to be duped by commercialism & cheap vitamins. iam a raw foodist and bottomline is you are what you eat. simple yet truthful. good health doesnt come easy, its a skill we learn.

  • Synthetic vitamins are fucking dangerous, the body doesn't even recognize them. These synthetic vitamins cause cancer. It's best to get your vitamins from food. I don't understand why people have so much faith in man made nutrition and no faith in nature. This is a very twisted mentally. These fuckers deserve to get sick and suffer and eventually perish.

  • The Arrogance of modern man!

  • Cause all the food they have now is shit processed and healthy food is becoming expensive.

  • So what do you think of Shaklee Food Supplements?

What do you think of sorbitol?

    Thanks for your opinion.

  • In the list of ingredients I come across *natural flavors* often or simply *flavors*

what does this mean? FLAVOR is not an ingredient, the the *purpose* of every ingredient.... so why is it on my list of ingredients?

  • ingredients are anything they make the food with.

Flavors are chemicals added to the food to make them taste a certain way.

Artificial flavors are man made chemicals added to food to make them taste a certain way.

The technology used to chemically create artificial flavors is very similar to the technology used to my perfume manufactures to create perfumes.

  • Question: I see many organic and health foods (I am speaking about the ones in the health/whole food stores-not grocery) with "natural flavoring" on the label. Should I be concerned? Is this yet another scam even from whole/health food companies? I have read that this item is actually MSG in disguise. Is this true? Please email me. Thank you.

  • If it say's "natural flavors" on organic food, that means it's fruit extract, spices or etc.

    Totally safe.

  • @allypopsthecorn google "ketones"

  • Very Informative Video...Kudos!!! Most people do not know they need to take whole food supplements.

  • I'm a nutrition student in Brazil and here we don't recomend supplements. We can reach the recomendations in almost all cases (not pathological), only eating the right sources of nutrients (food). Supplements are dangerous because is easy to exceed the recommendations and many nutrients in excess are toxic to our body (like Iron, zinc, vit a, vit d, etc) or overloads the kidneys.

The correct way is reeducate our habits and eat the recomended quantities of food to have a better health! =)

  • I guess the soil is not depleted of minerals down in Brazil yet??

  • Hmmm well just speaking from personal experience I notice a huge difference in my health and especially my hair when I take a multi-vitamin called DEVA Vegan Multivitamin & Mineral(even if most of the ingredients are synthetic). Sure, natural sources are clearly the best to get nutrition from, but the synthetic ones can help, too.

  • I am a proponent of natural vitamins versus synthetics. However, I have often resorted to synthetics based on cost. I also like New Chapters products.

  • Animal Pak is mostly synthetic as are 98% of supplements. There is only one multi that gets every single nutrient from plants and it is called Phytomatrix.

  • Dou you know if Phytomatrix is a whole food supplement? It better than the "Daily Nutrition" line of products offered by Country Life?

  • There isn't only one. Majestic Earth Minerals, Evolution supplement.

  • I've a multivitamin/multimineral called "Animal Pak", is that bad? I mean, the label says not much about the sources of its nutrients.

  • I learn something amazing in every video, something will totally change things for me, thanks so much ! woo hoo !!!

  • Watch "Codex Alimentarius" here on Youtube.

Vitamins will be illegal, being voted on Dec 31, 2009... Part of a TRADE (not health) agreement.

    Theres more in that video

  • I can't find any real Whole Food multivitamins. They all seem to be fake. Anyone have any suggested true whole food multivitamins?

  • standard process, mega food, juice +, those are the ones that come to mind off the top of my head.

  • PLEASE please pretty please tell me if this is any good. Complete Greens from Market America.greens are fat-free and contain no cholesterol while providing natural enzymes and contributing to beneficial probiotic activity (it) contains a proprietary blend of ingredients that provide amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, probiotics and minerals, which help you maintain your digestive tract.

  • I would need to test you specifically to see if you need it, but it sounds ok.

  • I take supplements to promote healthy hair growth. I take a total of 23 different supplements. My mother has been doing something similar for years, and she has never had any problems. In fact, she is EXTREMELY healthy. She is 56 and everyone thinks she is in her 30's. In my entire life, I do not ever remember her getting sick once. But I am worried though. Is taking too many supplements a problem? I take 23 daily. PLEASE answer with some good and helpful info, anyone.

  • I will attempt to answer your question tom. Supplements are necessary these days as a result of all the processed and cooked food. If a person ate an all raw diet that was all organic perhaps supplements would not be necessary. In this video I explain the difference between the different types of supplements. It is best to choose a supplement that comes from food. There are several brands available, so search for whole food supplements on google or ask your nutritionist what he suggests

  • you tube

    Codex

  • great! thanks a lot.

  • Have you heard of Xtend Life vitamins? I was trying to find reviews about it but could only find good things from sites that are selling their product or their own site.

  • Hi,

Doctors advise that when people use vitamins to take those for 2 month period and suspend for 1 month or so, is this the same case for whole food supplements?

    Thanks

    Hector

  • Whole food supplements are really just a high quality food.

The truth is you ideally you should get all the nutrients you need from eating good foods, When that's hard to do taking a supplements is better than developing deficiencies.

You might also want to check out this video, "The Truth about Vitamins & Supplements - Clinical Nutrition"

  • Thank you for sharing this info.

  • I see vitamin pills the same as caffeine pills: weird. I prefer to get my daily caffeine supply from coffee, not from pills!

  • Caffeine is not a vitamin guy. It's an addictive drug.

    see the following videos;

"Truth About Caffeine, Nutrition, Austin Wellness"

"Stress, Anxiety, Drugs The Truth about; Nutrition by Natalie"

"Caffeine is a Mental Illness! - Psychology by Sandy"

"Soft Drink Challenge - Nutrition by Natalie"

"Facts & Truth about Drugs, Illegal & Legal, Nutrition Health"

"Truth About Chocolate - Health Food, Junk or Drug? Nutrition"

  • Thanks for your concern. I've watched all of those videos before. While I'm more careful with my sugar intake, it's sad that I'm still addicted to caffeine. I tried to stop, but it's too compelling. (I also get headaches if I don't take a minimal amount - yes, that's one of the negative effects.) For the last two years coffee for me has been like what my physics teacher said: as a student, coffee is not an option. Any suggestions are welcome.

  • It's just one of those things that you have to go through the withdrawals until you body readjust to life without the drug. I don't think caffeine withdrawal last very long, maybe just a few days.

I quit caffeine about 6 years ago. I get a little bit occasionally if I eat a piece of chocolate but otherwise none.

What's funny to me is that most of the coffee drinkers I know have trouble getting out of bed or waking up until they get their coffee.

I have no such problems. :)

  • I enjoy sweet tea every now and then, caffine really isnt my bag

  • I was a student, and a good one, without coffee.

Wait, I was a Pepsi addict. Nevermind. I was still a caffiene junky. Now the only sources are chocolate (when the RARE craving hits) and green tea (which has MANY benefits).

I am more alert when I need to be, no mood swings, no withdrawal, no headaches- and no more hypertension.

  • Mike, I think he means he prefers to get his vitamins from FOOD not pills. But the quality of most food sold in the USA does not provide the vitamins and especially minerals we MUST HAVE due to farm soil depletion, incomplete nutrient refertilisation and GMO tinkering by big "Farma" (commercial farm/food companies), even organic farms have soil depletion issues.

  • That guy is the man. I'll be looking forward to more of your videos guy. Thanks.

  • good, as usual. thanks psychetruth people

  • Super foods!!

  • great video, went out and bought a whole food supplement. makes me feel great. thanks.

  • Where is Natallie ??????????????????????

  • If you haven't visited by my actual channel, you will see I have several different people in it.

I'm working on a Natalie video right now.

Expect some new folks in the channel though. I'm always looking for more people to include in it.

  • Thanks I just think Natallie is great. Her videos have changed my life

  • Glad to hear it. That's the idea.

I'm trying to give people information they can use in their life instead of just trying to sell them something.

  • You're doing a great thing here man, we appreciate it greatly. Thanks a lot.

By the way this new guy is great, keep him around a bit...

  • i'm sure you're not saying all vitamins are bad. because I take B vitamins, and I take other vitamins, but never supplements.

  • I think even nutraceuticals have their place and uses. When I get sick I pop vitamin C like candy for example and sometimes nutraceuticals can be used to correct deficiencies.

The more I eat actual good healthy foods though, the less I seem to need to take supplements at all.

  • while I agree with you,but what I do know is vitamins are MUCH better, and much SAFER then drugs.

  • Yea, Nutraceuticals are just synthetic vitamins which is what most people take when talk about taking vitamins.

He sort of went over the worst source of vitamins to the best source.

    Nutraceuticals

    Actual vitamins from natural sources.

    Whole food vitamins.

    High quality, nutrient dense foods.

  • I prefer pure vitamins or whole foods :)

  • "HASN'T BEEN TAMPERED WITH" 4:07

  • where's natalie? so the vitamins i've been buying from puritans pride are no good for me?

  • Good information. I knew vitamins were not as good as having whole foods, but didn't know they could cause deficiences.

  • How does this apply to people who have a metabolic disorder causing a vitamin or enzyme deficiency(s)? How can whole foods meets those needs?

  • I take Papaya enzyme.

  • In this case a person would find a whole food supplement that contained what substances they needed to supplement. This would be in a tablet or pill form, but it would contain the nutrients from a food source.

  • Is B12 produced by the bacteria in our gut, and if so is this humans natural source? For example like the great apes we don't produce vitamain C, and we have similar guts to them.

  • Interesting!
