I do typically paint like this, tho I never seem to take the same approach twice. I'm not even sure I'd consider this a speed painting. Any longer would just be noodling and I'm just not into that look.
Hey man, great work and awesome style, one Q, normally you work this way? even in your non speed paintings, or this is the fastest way you familiar and comfortable with?
what is ur main brush for inking??? and what r ur pressure settings to vary from thick line to thin...all the settings and brushes i use just seem to differ in darkness of the line, goin from light to dark with pen pressure.
very nice though i think that you should have kept it very simple and unrealistic because it looks like a good character drawing but not a realistic portrait (i know it's not supposed to be)
hi! the painting is amazing! also very interesting to look at the process. ive got a question tough, you painted the shading in black and white, and then you switched to colourand could easily colour it without having to shade with colours. how did you do that?
Sorry, not sure I understand the question. Maybe this is what you are asking-
After the rough B&W underpainting, I used a colorize layer in painter. Then dropped it to the canvas and used that as a foundation to keep painting. Does this answer your question?
whe you say Camelhair w, you say Round Camelhair?? I couldn't find in my corel painter x... Is that some kind of adicional brush? Please! Help me! I can't find a good digital painting course here in Brazil, and to learn by myself is very hard... Thanks in advance!

Just a normal box. Worked just fine about 10 years ago on those machines too. It's only painter.
markbehm 2 years ago
Do you use just a regular old PC or did you have to buy something powerful to do all that.

How do you mean you never seem to take the same approach twice?
Ovadiazigi 2 years ago
Meaning I will paint each piece differently. Different different methods and such.

I don't remember the brush I used for the lines. Press ctl-B for the brush palette. Size is in there. Min and max w pressure.

srmarte: Brushes are mostly,,,
1) Oil CamelHair w maybe a 70% resat. Not very much scale affect with pressure.
2) A big fat airbrush of some sort for big overal value corrections or attenuations. I do my best to hide any airbrush feel.
markbehm 3 years ago
thank you!!

srmarte 3 years ago
Round Camelhair, yes.
Opacity at 100%
Resat around 30%
Bleed around 15%
Feature depends on resolution and how much hair texture I want.
Again, I make the min size close to the max so it scales very little w/pen pressure.
Have fun.
