I'm not a fan of baseball, or any other sport, but this is one of my favorite films. It's about much more than baseball, for me, it's about second chances. Magic and miracles coming together for another chance to get it right.
Even as an Englishman, I have to say this is the greatest sports film of all time. The music is beautiful and compliments the story perfectly. I' must have watched this film over 100 times since I was a young boy and it always retains its power. The people will come speech is my all time favourite movie scene
Lucas, may I ask if you recently received a copyright notice from youtube stating that content is owned or licensed by NBC Universal? I uploaded Field of Dreams in April 2009 and just received that copyright yesterday (9.20.11). I had almost 50,000 views and it hurt to delete it. Please let me know. Thanks.

My Dad almost made it to the pros.... I was pretty damn good too... but my mom divorced him when I was 5 yrs. And moved us 1/2 way across the country just north of Iowa to Wisconsin... It never dawned on me, that I never played catch with my dad until I saw the seen where Ray played catch with his dad... It made me cry quite a bit...
I wish I had played catch with my dad even once...
you are all true fans of baseball. not the triumph of teams and the rivalries. but the memories and happiness it brings to us all over the years. go all teams and dad, let's play catch tommorow while we still have time
Hey Dad, I watched the Red Sox rout the Indians today it was spectacular to watch them pound the ball. The only thing missing was the phone calls we used to have back and forth talking about the players our bitching about the annoucers , sure do miss that, think of you everyday , its especially hard right now waiting for a phone to ring and know that it won't.... With all my love your son Kevin . Go soxs..... oxoxox
Thanks for everything dad. We never played catch, but you've make up for it with 20 years of being there, and pushing me hard to be the best i can be. It wasnt always easy, but i love you even more for that. You've made me strong. I know that if i ever wanted to play catch, you wouldn't hesitate. Love you, dad.
Dad its 10 years you have gone today 9 12 2010, think of you everyday miss watching baseball together, your grandson Drew had a great year this past summer in both high school and the aa you would have been proud. I told him you were there watching . miss you so much Dad love your son Kevin
Great Film, Beautiful score, but why oh why can't we see excerpts from the film on Youtube. The end scene with Costner and his "dad" and the James Earl Jones sppech People will come. The final scene bring stears to my eyes as i lost my Dad when I was only 9 years old,
I cried so much when I saw this film. The first time was after my father had died at 48 from a stroke. For most of my life he had been an alcoholic and too drunk to be involved in my life but for the last year of his life, after my parents separated, he and I grew closer and he told me things that I had been needing to hear all my life such as how much he loved me and that I was a gift to him from God (that really touched me). Anyhow, I can relate to Kevin's character's wanting a second chance.
I cannot help but cry when I saw this film with my son as I never met or knew my dad, to this day I do not know where he is so when I look at my son I know what true father to son love is. I hope I can whatch him grow into a fine , strong man. I love you son x.
Loved the movie and is one of my top films of all time. Still shed some tears watching it. I use the music in memory videos these days for people. I'll use their still shots for much of the video, but put a mix of film in the middle using this song, just an incredible and emotional response from them. Lucasspade, since you posted this, visit Flashback Studios on YouTube and you can see my version for a memory video using this theme.
lindo esse filme, é o melhor que eu ja vi, belissimo!

This reminds me slightly of some of the soundtrack pieces of Pandora Hearts (the anime) composed by Yuki Kajiura. Beautiful.
