i used lots of time carpatair athens - timisoara and i have to say that all services (on ground or on board )were very good. Every time Carpatair surprises me in a good way.
Horizon Air wich is one of the bigest regional air transporter in USA switched all they orders for jets into turboprops because of the pri of fuell. On the other side the competition in E Europe is much bigger on jets than regional props
carpatair is not a low cost complany for surre:) it is actualy very expennsive because it has an entire new fleet and it is the biggest regional airline in se europe
i guess that could make sense... but isnt that holding them back? wouldnt they be more profitable if they flew outside of romania too? i dont know, but passengers usually like a jet over a prop plane, coz of the noise, comfort, etc...
and usually bigger planes are more profitable, so as long as there is enough demand, in the long run they're cutting themselves short by not going with jets... =
i dont know their policy exactly...but i have to agree with you..... i flyed prop plane....and its definetly worst then jet plane:). Every major company also has prop planes...for short-distance fly....Tarom, Bulgarian Airlines:).
Carpatair also operate Fokker 100 (jet plane). So they afford jet planes. Props burn much much less fuel that jets. Thta's why they are used on reginal routes with small nr of PAX.
Hehe. Tare filmuletul. Hopefully I will work for them. I'm currently training to be a pilot, maybe one day, I'll be back in Romania and fly for them. That would be a dream come true!

then why cant they afford JET planes?????? the Embraeder from Brazil is an awesome jet plane that costs about the same as a shitty propeller plane
bloodfartz 3 years ago
because they only operate short distance.... so they dont need jet planes....they are to big for what they need:)
