This was a rejected take off due to an explosion on N1 engine at V1 speed. The runway had water pockets due to recent rain. One other reversor was inop.
That's pretty intense, although, what I want to know, why after all of the calculations and everything, did he abort, and not make it? Even with contaminated runways (wet) in rain, had he decided to abort BEFORE V1, he would have had to have been able to stop, considering that's what V1 is for. Wierd
i heard that everyone got out ok just before some fuel leaked, or something, could be wrong though. lucky, coz they would have been blown to pieces if this is true.
This was in SKRG, Rionegro, Colombia a.k.a. Medellin, Colombia. It was an aborted takeoff due to engine explosion

at 6 secs you can see he was on take off flaps and no reverse engine (why?) the runway seem to be one way....no runway lights at the end?!

He had come in too high and too fast, and wasn't able to use his breaks effectively for the conditions. Should have used the reversers more.
