Just the fact that you are playing to an Ian Hunter song tells me you either are or have the potential to be a great artist. You also get points for looking cool and hip while playing. I want to hear you do a bass solo version of this song. (maybe with a drum track).
@videovader101 If I relax it is not harder than a fretted bass after some years of playing. It is when you think too much it is starting to get difficult.
The rounds are worn:-) The Thomastik JF344 are great. I use them on my Precision playing on my Brick House vid. I have also had those on my Hagström Super Swede Bass (the ABBA playalongs).
Nice sounds. I always said the Jazz Bass could get a "Ric" sound. Thomas-Infield strings again? Which gauge?
Have you ever tried bass to the McCartney tune "What Do We Really Know?" from the "McGear" album? Great solo there as well (though certainly not as much 'soul' as this solo).
Bassowman, do you have this solo transcribed on tablature? I have a transcription done in "real" music, but the tab would be very helpful. If so, please let me know I could get a copy of it.
classic!

its unusual to see a fretless with blocks, was the neck once fretted?

Random question: Do you find playing a fretless harder or do your fingers just go to the positions naturally because of how many years you've played?

BaSsMaRiO21 3 years ago
what effect do you use for the solo??
BaSsMaRiO21 3 years ago
Its like a chorus but I dare say thats caused by the sound of the record and this bass track being ontop of one another.
moomoocajoo 3 years ago
I use no effect here. Just like moomoocajoo says it is the effect of mine and Jaco's slightly diferent intonation on the fretlesses:-)
