@shitNameAlert Not exactly. They could fall from the elevator before it has reached the top. They would not be prepared for the fall, and there wouldn't be time for their parachutes to slow them down. A fall from the elevator on the way up would be more likely to be fatal than jumping from the top.

I would be worried about being precariously perched on the small roof of the elevator with the chance of the above consequences than a well planned and routine jump from the top.
