  • Mmmmmm egg & soldiers... and nice to see Harmony from the Bugaloos here, too.

  • Hartley Hare. Genuis. The conceited prince of glove puppets.

  • 12:24 is the best

  • Time for a STORY

  • i now know where the thing of donnie brasco comes from, man i still have shivers.

  • Dang the puppets suck, and the puppeteers as well

  • Yö Hitchmeister, howz things wiv u ? Would löve to here more about your radio days sometime,it sounds really interesting & I bet you've got alöt of fantastic stories to tell.I'd also like to hear some of your sing alongs that you still have too,now that'd be worth a tidy listen I think,oh yeah. : -)

  • Oh & before I forget in response to your captain sensible comment earlier all I wana do is sing back to ya ' I said captain I said what,I said captain I said what,I said captain I said what,I said captain I said what you want ? Whooooooo.LOL ! :-)

  • @taylorlucky13 LOL! Daft begger :p

You should do a vid of him, but not 'wot' you need more of a 'glad its all over' tune :D

Its funny ya know. I used to do radio (local and net) and I have been known to sing along quite happily on the net show just like you did on the vids. I still have some of my singalongs :)

  • Yö Hitchmeister ! Cool name by the way,I like ! & yes your sö right there was definetly ALÖT more quality kids tv way back then compared to what is out there today.Children may have löads of choice to choose from but the quality is much poorer than what we had to watch. It was tv heaven for us so less is definetly möre. :-)

  • Wöw wee this brings back such alöt of very happy memories for me.Haven't seen this since I was a kid,am 42 now so am getting a bit old in the tooth.Awh,lol. I never missed watching an episode of this great series when it used to be on the tele back in the days when there was just 3 tv channels. It made me feel child like all over again whilst I watched it,now thats what I call a truely magic moment for me.AWESÖME !!!

  • @taylorlucky13 Old in the tooth!? I'm older so hush! :)

Seriously, I recall those three channels too and ya know what? There was more on then than there is now!

  • You're right this was the best programme. I was and still am a complete fan. Hartley rules!

  • I am nearly 46 years old so I remember all of these 1970's programs like they were ten minutes ago. I loved my childhood and I know it's not possible but if it was I would go back and do it all again.

  • @Davewise1965 I'm 43 and I have to admit that whilst I love watching these again (one reason I uploaded them) I don't wanna do my childhood again :) All that stress, all the school!! No thanks :)

    Glad you enjoyed them though.

  • @Hitchmeister Thanks for your reply. I think that life back then was so much easier and better than it is now. I loved School and not having anything to worry about. People were nice to each other then as well. I would go back in an instant if I could.

  • @Davewise1965 Funny you say that people were nice to each other back in the old days. My memories of primary school (early 80's) are of right little bastards bullying kids.

So no, I'd rather not go back to those days. I think people in general have not changed over the years, it's just that as we get older we recognise differences in people more.

  • @Hitchmeister I am 46 years old so I started Primary School in 1970 when I was 5 years old. I loved both Primary and Secondary Schools. I loved my childhood, for me life was much better then than it is now but I suppose everyone has their own story to tell.

  • Hartley can bug tortoiise and pig if he wants to

  • Hartleys like bazil brush

  • Personally, I much prefered Anne Rutter playing the part of "Pig", Heather Tobias just didn't (and still doesn't) cut it for me. BUT, sincere thanks for uploading :)

  • How can this be 1973 when the production slide says 1976?Also the earlier series had different titles and music.

  • @norrisinthetree Because I was busy as hell and time stopped in 1973 :)

You are correct, I uploaded the wrong one! I shall upload episode 1 later, for now though consider this dated 1976.

Sorry about that people. I normally upload episode 1 of the VHS I have with a later episode going up later. I guess this time we have it the other way around :)

  • OMG, I remember watching this as a kid, it was so 'Skippy Does Friday the 13th' ... only with extra creepiness! Many years later, as I watched 'Donnie Darko', I felt I KNEW what had inspired the movie producers ... The actual production values were admirable, the working budget was deplorable - unlike 'Doctor Who', 'Torchwood', etc. I don't think we'll have much luck selling this 'classic' format to the American networks! Still it's great to see this unappreciated show appearing here :)

  • @FoolOfGods The chances of anything coming from Mars... are a million to one better than an American network getting this show, agreed :)

  • ohh,pipkins :-)...awsme

  • the greatest show on earth
